Green Laning
Just seen this which sounds like good news for those Green laners !!!!!
A High Court judgement in favour of trail riding bikers may make it more difficult for local authorities to impose unnecessary truck bans like the one recently inflicted on Gloucestershire. Judge Behrens QC said that the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority had been unbalanced and irrational when it tried to ban motorcyclists and 4x4 drivers from four green lanes in the park by imposing Traffic Regulation Orders on them. The Land Access and Recreation Association brought the case against the National Park Authority, helped by the Trail Riders Fellowship. "The case sets an important precedent for all Traffic Regulation Orders," said Richard Simpson, for TRF. "It reminds Highway Authorities that their duty is to support law-abiding road users and not the Nimby brigade. The precedent will help curb spurious "access only" prohibitions and truck bans. Road users of all kinds owe a big debt to Lara and the TRF for bringing this action."
