Off Roading Sat 14th November in Leics area
Colin and I tried out a few green lanes in our area a couple of weeks ago with Tony and Lin, and have decided that they should be shared with other SOC members .
Looking at Saturday 14th November, to be at our house (Whitwick, Leics) for breakfast at 9am ish, ready to leave at 10 ish.
Please let us know if you are interested and would like to join us. Will need an idea of numbers for breakfast. Any questions, just ask, and I will try to answer them.

Enjoy yourselves. Sadly I can't come along, i'll be lay on my back two inches deep in either rain or snow under a Lancia Fulvia HF somewhere inhospitable and bleak like Carlise Airport. And I'll be loving every minute of it.

I thought drivers did not have to get their hands dirty - but it would appear that you are servicing and not driving? not using the Sunbeam then? - from confused in Runcorn

Leicester green laning.
Just to let you know that I have booked the day off work and Fred and Tasha will be there.
Along with with Wayne and Andrew.
(Who spend most of their time fighting over who owns the best Scamp).
"My Scamp is better that your Scamp"..............
( They are like a pair of school boys..........)
Wayne is busy painting his as we speak and Andrew is at work earning money to spend on his.
They both want shiny chrome "go faster bits" but I have told them that they will be difficult to keep clean after all the green laning..........
But you can't tell some people........
Looking forward to a good day out.

Oh my word. What a response we have had about Saturday, it's great. We are expecting around 20 people, 10 cars. Never thought we would get this many interested. Lets hope we all have a great time.
Don't forget breakfast is at 9am, (or if you have heard the rumours about my cooking, McDonalds is round the corner!) aiming to leave by 10am. Daylight hours are short now, so we need to make the most of them.

Colin has checked out some of the lanes we will be using on Saturday, and they are VERY muddy . If you have M&S tyres they would be very useful !!! (As would tow ropes, high lifts etc.!!)
Looking forward to seeing you all.

Andrew
The best colour for any Scamp is the one that you find at the back of the garage,
other than that its down to Asda price..............as cheap as possible.
Dont go for Orange as that is really expensive

We would go for a nice dull, dirty mud colour. That way you don't have to keep washing it after taking it off-road!
What colour is it now Andrew?

NATO green looks good if you want a bit of a military look, could try light stone or even matt black if that suits you better.
The proper stuff is cheap (for quality paint) and can be rollered on if you don't have spraying equipment (use the mini-rollers designed for gloss)

Some of those pics look like you were behind my Mum & Dad's house Not as muddy as I expected it to be considering the recent heavy rains......
Hope your breakdowns we're easily fixed, and few & far between
Elaine.

You had to be there to appreciate how wet it was! - I don't think the photos do it justice - perhaps a look at Debbie when she had just sat down in one of the ruts(silly move!) might you give a better impression. It was definately VERY VERY muddy!
I have no idead exactly where we were. Colin could throw some light on that.
