Whats the coming events?
Hello, Fellow keen Scampers,
Just come on this forum, to see if any new off-roading / green laning events.
I know some of you come out in a cold sweat, Thinking off off-roading such a pretty car, for those who have a real Scamp come along and go Scamping, You to 4x4 Rob..
If I waited for you lot to do a offroading event I would be grey haired by now?
I am going to the Peak distict easter, to do some off-roading / green laning, alot of you dont want to do off-roading, thats fine just turn up and bum a lift in a real Scamp, there should be a couple left in this world.
Everyone is welcome so bring your Mud and snows or your polish...Thats car polish and not the 2 million unwanted gits over here allready.. and some tea bags as I will want a cuppa tea from you tight lot..
The camp site is the same as last time..
Book your own pitch on the Campsite..You have been warned..
P.S only leave a message if you are intrested, we dont want to know about your Aunties dog, or any other poor crap excusses?
Take care Rick

Re: Whats the coming events?
Easter's always a no go for us I'm afraid (work), so we can't join you's.
In the meantime we're doing as much off-roading as we can before Reg's Monster gets a revamp.

We would LOVE to come at Easter - but already booked up for our normal dancing weekend! Actually, Tony has just come in and said he would really prefer to go off-roading - its his fav type of event. He LOVES getting Taz dirty! - However, have already paid the deposit so he has no choice - a definite for the year after tho so please keep it going.

Its current 160bhp already deals with the boy racers adequately

I did say put down if you are going to the event, not good or poor reasons why you arent going, didnt I make it clear. I dont want to sound rude, but the posts on here get kind of lost.
Its so it makes it quite clear for anyone to can see, who is going..
Thank you..Rick.

Re: Whats the coming events?
If I'm not working I'll be there, last time I went green laning in the peak district I ripped me balls out, literally, inner plunge joint that is. Stick it in the mag or on the website, you may get a few more takers. Any thoughts of another one down Portsmouth way, you seem to know the tracks prety well down there Rick.

Green laning in Hampshire
Whilst Rick and I were discussing the Turkey Run, it was mentioned that perhaps it was time for a change of venue for the Annual Scamp Holiday (Wales).
Rick suggested that perhaps some you keen Scampers would like to go to Hampshire..........
Not too far from the coast, plenty of green lanes and being on the South coast there should be better weather.

Re: Whats the coming events?
I tried this year to change the annual Scamp holiday but Wales was brought back by popular demand according to James and in then end Nettie and I ended up going for a couple of days but parked the caravan on the Folk Club field only cos we got a discount.
I could suggest Dubai - loads of offroading for Rick, plenty of sand and sea for the Worth's, Skiing for Robin and Elaine and lots of fast cars and big 4x4's to drool over and petrol at a pound a gallon - no oh well the thought was there.
I heard its getting down to -3 degC there - its still 35 degC during the day here and a cool 24 at night, I can actually sit out on my balcony with my vodka and coke in the evening.

Re: Whats the coming events?
Don't think I'll be able to make the Turkey run, by the time I would get there it would be time for me to turn back again, the holiday seems a good idea though, but I would only be able to make a weekend. (work & other commitments)

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and take a guess.. but I reckon the answer could be "More times than you've had birthdays"....

You're dead right John, That car was off-roading when you were still in nappies, Charlie.
Reg has been there and done that (as I'm sure he'll agree) when it comes to off-road.
Can't you remember the TYRO trial at Bainland, Woodhall Spa and all the green-laning in wales?

I know I'm biased but the Monster was the first of a new breed of scamp and will always be the best 'off-road adapted' Scamp. Some of Fred Howards creations have come close and Chris Yates Scamp is unbelievably capable but the Monster just ticks ALL the boxes.

Really, is that the best you can come up with? James, Rob and I drove UP the hill pictured (this year), didn't see you doing that.RICK wrote:There nothing like good feed back....is there? Is that Stourport again and again?

Did you not read James' post? I've off roaded at loads of places (Lincs, Peak District, Wales, Bedford Bash, Staffordshire, Oxford, Telford, Leicester) obviously some of which were before you were a SOC member.
My car has never had a break down off road, this is why it has won 'Best Off Road Adapted'.
Getting stuck at the bottom? Yeah, I did this year at Stourport on my fourth lap, seeing how slow I could get through the mud pit.......... And after it was pulled out, I immediately drove though it twice more without stopping.
A couple of vids just for you....

Ooo Goodie! A "Willy Waving" competition….
Could I just point out that it was indeed I who first drove the bottom track unaided.. at Stourport, this year, ...having had to wait for James to be recovered by some namby-pamby 4X4 thing…..
