The War & Peace Show
Is anybody else off to Paddock Wood this year for the War & Peace Show?
Thomas (Reg's nephew) is coming with us this time. Hopefully, he'll enjoy the whole event as much as we do. I can't think of a 14 year old boy that wouldn't..... but one never knows when it comes to teenagers!
Hoping for a dry July!
Elaine.

I keep saying I/We ought to go to this event.
HOPEFULLY will make it this year, even if only
for one day. It's strange how we travel miles
to some shows but never get to a local ones.

Is that L2B, Hastings Do and War & Peace?
Your Visa will need upgrading.
Please send your Visa or Mastercard details including your PIN.
I will then be able to upgrade as necessary.

It looks like a year of mass migration to the south,as it is,I am away on holiday the week after so I will probably be working on the Saturday, but if you and Reg are there on the Sunday I'll have to come and pay you both a visit,(you know, just to inspect your pasports and visa's!!)

Re: The War & Peace Show
Day Visitor prices vary depending on when/if you book.
See here: http://www.warandpeaceshow.com/Show-Information/2011-Show/Tickets.html
And as I'm sure anybody who's ever been will tell you, it's well worth every single penny... a massive show with loads of convoys & re-enactments going off here, there, and in ditches & tunnels everywhere throughout each day.
Then there are the Main Arena events, they happen Wednesday to Sunday from 10am onwards. The Saturday & Sunday being the most action packed, with displays & battles ongoing from 10.00am right through until 5pm. Vietnam being one of our personal faves...
There are also over 1000 military & memorabilia stalls within the 400 acres... they take over a day to browse through.
It's like going back in time, you're surrounded by 40's music, fashion & beauty.
Camping (inc entry fee)
The week is £105 per Adult, and £60 per Child (3-15). Weekend (Fri-Sun) Adult £80, Children £60.
In order to soak up the full atmosphere of the Beltring show, you really need to stay on site, not least of all because, as a day visitor, you are expected to leave the show ground by 6pm. To take full advantage of the evening entertainment, the best place to be is based on site, and last year, nearly 16,000 people and many nationalities took advantage of our 300 acres to bring their caravans, pitch their tents, and sleep in their tanks.
The site is commonly referred to as "The Beltring Village" as people come from all over the world and take advantage of the fact that they have everything on site here with them. Once you have your own spot, you don't have to worry about driving or queueing to get in.
