Stanford Hall Mini Show - Sunday 13th September 2009
Just to let you all know that I have had confirmation from National Mini Owners Club that our club stand request has been accepted.
Was a great event last year with the Scamp Owners Club, and I have had several previous good years there with mini owners clubs.
Would be great to get a good turnout there and keep the Scamp name and our celebrations of 40 years in the mini eye.
I beleive that admission cost is £11 per car.
If you would like to support us there please let me know.
Many Thanks
Deb

Debbie is very kindly organising it for us. If it's like last year you turn up on the gate, pay and drive to the club stand. Simples, like Meercat!
Stanford Hall.
Have just checked my work rota and I am off that weekend, so Fred and I will be there in two Scamps.

We are aiming to be there for 9am so that we can set up in plenty of time before the gates open to the public.
Looking forward to seeing as many of you there as possible so that we can continue to celebrate the Scamps 40th Birthday

Re: Stanford Hall Mini Show - Sunday 13th September 2009
Good question well presented, even the web site doesn't say
http://www.miniownersclub.co.uk/clubnews.htm
But my mini club are getting there for 0900 to set up so iam pretty sure that it is 1000 for punters, but loads turn up early to get the bargains anyway.

Re: Stanford Hall Mini Show - Sunday 13th September 2009
Thanks for answering that one for me Rob. I understood that gates opened to public at 10.00, but as you say it doesn't seem to be stated anywhere.
People that are coming onto the club stand are welcome before then, so that we are ready to face the public !!
Hoping to be there for 9.00 ourselves - children permitting !!!
See you later - lets hope we have a good day

Re: Stanford Hall Mini Show - Sunday 13th September 2009
Thanks Carla we did.
Both the Scamps and the Funkey Monkies were positioned near to the Hall with our backs to the river with only a couple of clubs and a burger van between them, so excellent spots for my club hopping .
There about 8 Scamps there, plus several others in normal cars, so all in all not a bad turn out.
Monty said it was the biggest event there ever. The Monkies went away with 200 sods for best stand (Dr Who, Darleks and K9), so that was 3 events attended and 3 won.
Just another 2 weeks to go before my next Scamp outing down at Castle Coombe race circuit.

The turbo clubby, extremely neat under the bonnet, was featured in January's Mini Magazine. Shall I live to see a turbo Scamp?

It's been done already, by Geoff Waldorf (Metro Turbo power). It won best of the bunch one year.
Anyway, the clubby is actually Supercharged (it uses the Eaton blower from a BMW Mini). Jonspeed do a conversion but some of the detailing is a little robust (in my opinion) and limits the posible power gains.
