For those of us Southern wooses who don't want to travel up to the Peak District over the Easter weekend, organised by the same lot that do Stoneleigh. Also have a look at the evening entertainment...........the 3 Grandads.

Have you tried emailing the members that live within, let's say 100 miles of Detling? Maybe they don't visit the websites?
Elaine.
Re: Detling Kit Car Show,Kent
Its in the last mag,on the forum and on the main website,to sort out the email addresses of the 80-90 members that live within 100 miles would cost me valuable magazine time, which, incidentally is nearly finished.
I've blown my horn till I'm blue in the face!! Brooklands for example is a trip of about 75 miles for me,which,I suppose is a tad south of being central, but to raise interest is a killer.

I asked Chris about all these members in the south. What he was trying to say was that he did not have time to sort through the list of 80-90 club members to see who lived within a reasonable travelling distance.

Re: Detling Kit Car Show,Kent
The Scamp Owner's Club has 80 - 90 members,to sift though that lot and then to pick out the relevant email addresses of those who live down south would take up valuable magazine time, what time I have left is taken up with running a business, keeping up with family, going to Scamp doo's and getting merry..................very,very,mery......................sometimes!
Oh,and and another thing is doing silly things on the forum.

Re: Detling Kit Car Show,Kent
Well, the kit car show that very nearly wasn't.As the previous owner had pulled out and taken the website with them,Grosvenor(the people that do Stoneleigh)came in at the last minute, only thing was there were 2 websites showing different dates, one the Saturday and Sunday and one the Sunday and Monday, that and the rubbish weather it really didn't get going at all, quite a few public paying customers but not many kit cars,a shame because it has been good in the past. The organisers went around to everyone on the Saturday night to muster up an audience for the evenings band, which,by the way, were brilliant and played everything from Take That to AC/DC.Sunday I was on my tod,if it wasn't for the brilliant Nova/Avante club, who took me under their wing for the weekend,it would have been quite lonely as the organisers stuck us about as far away from everyone else as the could.Incidentally,it was the same sized pitch as we have at Stoneleigh(if not bigger)with one Scamp on it!!

Re: Detling Kit Car Show,Kent
Well done Chris for flying the flag (literally).
It sounds like the organisers (or lack of) were a major contributor to the poor show attendance. By the looks of it the weather didn't help much either.
Still, there's Stoneleigh to look forward to.

Re: Detling Kit Car Show,Kent
Yes thanks to speedfighter for making the effort, and John on the Saturday. As for Club Nova, they have a different club policy,£20 per year and that pays for Liability insurance,a bloomin great Gazeboo, gas bbq,all the food you can eat,and hospitality by the barrell load, can't thank them enough,we'll have to invite them over at Stoneleigh,a genuinely nice bunch of people, those that don't turn up at events don't get anything out of the club apart from their forum,no news letters or correspondence apart from an annual reminder.
