Sorry it's been so long getting back to you all,it has been a bit of a trawl to find a hotel big enough for our numbers,cheap enough so that I don't get the "yipes" again and all this in a place where they seem to want to price christmas partys so that only the rich and famous can afford it.I may have found a venue,I will phone them tommorrow after Scamp has been for it's pose with Complete Kit Car Mag.As far as the idea of a bowling/pub idea the feedback I am getting is that a party would suite the majority,however,for those who get there at a reasonable time of day,instead of a workout in the Hotel's gym in the afternoon I'm up for a game of bowling in the afternoon if anyone is interested.

I phoned the Oxford Witney Four Pillars Hotel and the event organiser is not there until Monday and they cannot give me room rates(the woman on the reception mumbled £80.00 for a double and I said she had to be joking!!).So,I will phone them on Monday to do some serious haggling(the brochure quotes room prices from £29.00).

It is 10 years since I lived in Oxford but the 4 Pillars was always pretty expensive. I've just checked on Laterooms.com and Hotels.com for a double on the 3rd December and both are showing £90.

I have tried about six or seven hotels in the region,they are either not big enough,or too expensive,as I said before the brochure says rooms from £29.00 so let's wait until Monday.

We're War & Peace-ing it next week, but we will have our mobiles with us if a prompt decision is required.

Saw some of the procession on it's way there today,and past the turning to Paddock Wood on our way back yesterday.Only just down the road,welcome neighbour!!

Yeah, I s'pose it is relatively close to where you live.
