Re: Scamp Christmas Party 2014
Give us chance Martin,I've only been back 3 days from the Picnic and I've spent most of that trying to put together the short break in Lydd for next year. As far as the Christmas do,I am waiting for a reply from the Holiday Inn in Cambridge (where we went last year). The date we are trying to get is Saturday the 13th of December. As soon as I get confimation I will put it under a heading on the forum and Elaine has said she will handle it from there (at least I hope that's what she meant). I have also asked if there are any stipulations on children.

When you think that our editor is an extremely capable 13 year old,and one of our mainstays at the Picnic is Charlie on his quad bike, why shouldn't children be included as a very important part of the SOC.

Re: Scamp Christmas Party 2014
Well said Chris. Children are our future and certainly integral to many families involvement in the SOC
Christmas Party etc.
I have recently rejoined the SOC with the hope of getting my Grandchildren involved with "Scamping".
I have many fond memories of my (now grown-up) daughters being given rides in the back of various Scamps at picnics and Welsh Trips - especially by Martin S an John S (in Tonka Toy). Long may this continue!
So whole-heartily agree with Chris and TRR on this!
Best regards NG Guy.

Re: Scamp Christmas Party 2014
Back up the truck, we are discussing the SOC Christmas party, children are most welcome to all SOC events, some families like to have break from their kids and let their hair down (for those that have hair), some members take their offspring everywhere, it is up the venue regarding their policy on children at late night parties and then up to the parents - nuff said

Re: Scamp Christmas Party 2014
We used to do parties that involved everyone. As some of our younger family members are very active and are even part of the structure of the SOC,we ought to involve them. I am trying to find something central, reasonably priced and are not limited to over 18's, a tall order leading up to Christmas, but I will keep trying for the time being. After all, did we all enjoy the picnic? The younger set were there and getting stuck in to every event going. I think they deserve their place,of coarse,if they want to come, but just remeber, you may see some awful Dad dancing if you do!!!!!
