Re: The Save Donington Parade
This Sunday folks. www.savedonington.co.uk
I wasn't going to bump this thread for fear of another flaming, but the forum seems to have died a sudden death, so I'll risk it (if only for the sake of some replies)!
Can't believe how quiet this place has become....
Elaine.
P.S We haven't been in the garage, so won't be going in the MESS - Too much going on in our lives at the mo.

So many hits by so many people and not alot to say,as you say Elaine the forum has become very quiet of late,no doubt the spring will see new shoots of recovery, that and more Scamping events going on,bring back your husband I say.The more of our race tracks we can save the better I say,I know that our local race track,Brands Hatch, has suffered over the years with funding, good luck at the parade anyway.

Re: The Save Donington Parade
Well I was going to get the MESS on the road for Stoneleigh (or Newark at the latest), but there's not much point now that Reg isn't going... I'll be working, so originally we had planned for Reg to drive it to the shows, and me turn up later.
Thus meaning it's been put on the backburner for now, and we're using our spare time & cash to revamp the bungalow instead. Only four more windows, and one door to go, then we're finally be rid of the dreaded uPVC.
I've decorated the hall, lounge, and kitchen.
The garden's coming along nicely as well, we should be finished that in a couple of weeks. And the back room (the garden room) is being plastered very soon. Then there's the bedroom, wardrobes being fitted either side of the bed, with overbed cupboards to match.
The old style concrete guttering is coming off, and being replaced with modern plastic ones (that look, and work better).
We need to build a woodstore (or two) ASAP, coz we're rapidly running out of space. I think they're going in the front garden (well at least one of 'em).
I'm sure there's more.............. Aaah yes, we're taking the lounge floorboards up, insulating underneath, then relaying boards.
Do you feel tired yet? I do!
Back on topic! We're really looking forward to the Save Donington Parade, Newark (on tour) Autojumble is in the exihibition hall. Kevin Wheatcroft himself is going to invite questions and interviews on the day, and there is a possibility that he will be able to make an announcement regarding the new leaseholders.
There's discounted admission into the museum (I remember when it was free), so it's only a fiver for adults to get in to see the world’s largest collection of Grand Prix cars.
And there'll also be various rides, and entertainment as well.
It should be a great day out. If we'd have had a Scamp on the road I'd have applied for a SOC stand there... Instead we've got to slum it with the other Lotus owners.
Hope you all have a great weekend,
Elaine.
P.S With regard to Reg, as it stands I honestly can't see him coming back...

Re: The Save Donington Parade
Brilliant day out, lots of interesting cars. According to the Mercury, around 8,000 of us turned up.
