Young person insuring a Scamp?
What sort of insurance costs are the 17yr olds having to pay for their Scamps?
And are there any problems/restrictions when doing so?
TIA,
Elaine.

RE: Young person insuring a Scamp
Hi again, whilst this doesent quite answer your question, i believe you have to be 21 to get classic insurance and that starts from the vehicle has to be 15 years old onwards. A Flux or Footman James being the better for me! When i changed from the Striker Fiat 2 ltr twin cam i explained to the girl on the phone i was swopping from the fiat to a honda 1100 for more mpg, she must of thought a "Civic" it came down from £250 FC to £100 FC! Sounds too good to be true, Next year the bubble burst! When the bike engined craze kicked in.

Nic was able to insure Daisy (1000cc engine) for the same as her classic mini at 17. I think I'm right in saying Adrian Flux still won't touch her until she is 21 but in spite of having refused to insure her over the phone, we caught 'Footman James' at Stoneleigh with a huge banner over them saying 'We will insure anyone' and they insured her for £850 (ish) tpf and t. That was 2 and a half years ago.
Lads have to pay more for any car insurance so whether a lad would get insured on a Scamp at 17 would depend upon having a bottomless wallet I guess.
