Insurance for young drivers
Just recd renewal papers for Scamp from footman James. Renewal schedule shows Thomas as named driver as it has done for last two years. Thomas wanted to transfer Scamp and insurance into his name. Rang up Footman James to be told that although he is on renewal schedule he will not be allowed to drive after renewal which is next Thursday as they no longer insure kit car drivers under 25 no matter what kit and not withstanding that he has driven Scamp for last two years. Adrian Flux have also taken same line. This stinks. Anybody know off any other brokers to approach?

Try Frank Pickles, 01943 850999. Bad news though if the change is actually from the insurance companies.

Other options are Peter Best or Sureterm. Chris Knott might be worth a try as they offer a discount to members of various Pug owners clubs which tend to attract young drivers.

Good to see that you have managed to sort this out. It appears Footman James now only have one company they can use for Kit Car insurance, this rather limits their competitiveness.
