Such stuff as nightmares are made of - and I bet the co-pilot will suffer them for years! Thank Heaven the pilot knew what he was about.

My favourite is the Handley Page Valiant. My Dad was a crew chief on them, working up to 90sqn Warrent Officer.
When the main spars cracked up in 1965.............Yes i know before most of you were born
My dad got seconded to the Royal Malaysian Air Force and we all went on a 3 1/2 year holiday.........bargain

I bet the pilot & co-pilot's didn't need seatbelts, their arses must have been holding onto the seats like rubber tea towel holders!
Anyway, where do we sign up to the 'Victor to the skys' campaign?

They finished their last decade of service as Air to Air Refuelling Tankers.
55 & 57 Sqns at RAF Marham before the VC10 tankers at Brize Norton took over from them.

My favourite is the Handley Page Valiant.
PEDANT ALERT
Vickers Valiant, Handley Page Victor.
The third was the Delta-winged Avro Vulcan which (if any) I think is my favourite, possibly because it was one of a number of cardboard models I assembled as a small boy.
