Hello fellow Scampers,
Just a quick one. I dropped my Scamp off at Mudfords 7 weeks ago to get a hood made, they haven't even started it yet. I need one made in 3 week for Newark show does any one know of a place in the East Midlands.. how about you Muttley, I was impressed with your hood.

Take care Rick

Do you have a boat cover maker near you? They are often cheaper and quicker than the car type places.

Hi Rick,

Mine was done at

Canvas & Ropes Limited
Unit 2
New Inn Bridge Industrial Estate
998 Foleshill Road
Coventry CV6 6EN
Tel. 024 76637659
sales@canvasandropes.co.uk
Contact: John

I sent him some photos by email of what to expect and we agreed a rough price.
When I was ready I rang him and the next week, he had it for a day and produced the hood.
I had to fit it .....lots of twist button fastners....but it was pretty good.

I've been back to have "quarter light windows" added and a couple of velcro flaps. Again this was done very quickly and very reasonably.

John mentioned that there was a bit more work than he originally estimated so if he did anymore he might have to charge a bit more. However, if he's got your old one as a pattern it might even be cheaper. Remember, Cash talks ! Wink

The rear window leaks a little, but only a little and I haven't tried any sealant etc., and in hindsight I probably do a couple of things differently but I'm very pleased.

I will be going back to John for my other Scamps.

Go on Rick....you can have a day in sunny Coventry, drop the Scamp off, catch the bus (148) into town, have a wander around the Transport Museum (Free and Pretty Good), have some lunch, quick look at the sights, back on the bus, pick the Scamp up.....easy

Thanks Dave for the info about your hood maker, I phone them and they can make me a hood in a couple of weeks.
I picked up from Muddfords after having my Scamp for 2 months, they done nothing in that time what a waste.

Thanks Dave.

P.S Thanks for the help its what a good club is all about, even getting someone out of a deep muddy puddle.

This place is just around the corner from where the Xmas was held.

Their Quality is top score, my Mini club mate had a pickup round back cover made and it fitted brill, it was mates rates but did take blooody ages.

They used to do out the Artic trailers for F1 teams, landrovers and classic cars.
