But what a polite reply! Not sure mine would have been quite so pleasant!

he knows nothing
comments like that make you wonder how sad some peoples lives are. Putting bucket seats in a mk1 scamp upsets him enough he has to correct you, wonder what he drives!! I like to be strapped in when I tip past 45 degrees!! He must be jealous of the twin carbs on a 998cc.

Also, you want to try driving the 1700 or so miles down to Italy and back in standard Mini seats as well,I had standard buckets with no head restraints on my first trip down to Italy and had cronic back pain for 2 or 3 weeks when I got back.My first bucket seats looked the part in the Mk1,but boy were they uncomfortable!!!!!!!!

Re: mk1 on ebay
The sad twat has a point even if his communication skills could do with some polish. Those particular seats, however practical, are visually a bit overpowering for such an otherwise neat little example.
OK, Scamps are essentially for 'go' rather than 'show', but there must be plenty of alternatives - here for example, although it does help to be colour blind. Which ones have members tried, and what was the result? Give us the benefit of your collective experience!
My own Mk1, for example, has Volvo seats of some sort (can't remember what model they came from, I just went round the scrappie armed with a tape measure) which don't look too bad and are reasonably comfortable, but don't provide serious side support.

Re: mk1 on ebay
I wonder why he is selling it with the summer just a round the corner - must be mad? practicle choice of seats as that roll over bar does not look strong enough to attach inertia seat belts - a cracking Mk1 I think I wonder who will buy it ?

Re: mk1 on ebay
IT WAS ME ! I BOUGHT IT !
Just driven it home and it goes beautifully. As for the seats, whatever they may look like they are extremely comfortable. Can't wait for the summer and all the fun it's going to give me.
Looking forward to meeting up with other owners soon, meanwhile I'm off to sit in it again and make childish Brrrmmm Brmmmmmm noises

Re: mk1 on ebay
Hi Clifford, welcome aboard the forum!
That's a helluva nice motor you have acquired (whatever observations I may have made), and you don't have to wait until summer to enjoy driving it - just a nice dry day! We do get them occasionally you know, even in April.
