Re: More speed cameras again
This article is full of loaded language: "Big Brother" ... "spy" ... "lucrative" ... "disguised" ... "supposedly". All "weasel words" (to load a couple myself) designed to sell papers rather than to inform the readers. Just the sort of amateurish effort you expect in regional rags - the national press does it rather better of course. Sorry, but I don't like articles telling me what to think. Incidentally, the fines don't go to the police or the local authority as some people who should know better seem to think, they go to the courts. Speed cameras aren't there to make money, the HA would far rather that drivers didn't speed, plain and simple.
Rant over.
In my own case, I decided after a few fines and too many accumulating points that I had better ruddy well learn to notice speed limit signs and stick to the limits (unless of course I consciously chose not to, but that's another matter). It seems to have worked, I had a clean license by the time medical reasons obliged me to stop driving.
