It's sounds like they're for built up areas (initially), i.e places where there are lower limits in place for a reason... where common sense tells you that you shouldn't really be speeding anyway. We'd be more concerned if they were increasing the amount used in the National Speed Limited areas.
Thanks for the heads up though,
Elaine & Reg.

they are also trailing it in the M1 roadworks near Nottingham alongside the real average speed cameras. They are sited in the verge next to the hard shoulder on a trianglulated pole thats about 12 ft tall.

I think there's some just before the roundabout on the A512 near Tesco as well...

You Know the answer............dont go into London
The more people boycott London then the more money Gov / companies will pay outside of the M25.
Why have to go from the Midlands/North to fly out of Heathrow or Garwick!!!!!!
Give me the wild outdoors any day.

Re: SPEED RECOGNITION CAMERAS
The chap from the Nova kit car club has had several conversations with the DVLA because of this issue and has been told by DVLA (off the record) that road charging in certain areas is planned for 2016 but they want to bring every vehicle detail into line by then.Oh,I forgot to say in the mag,the DVLA only recognise base colours of vehicles,so if it's orange it would be classed as red and purple as blue etc. Burocratic humdrum if you ask me. Still,we will no doubt be voting for the next or same set of burocrats in May,as long as they get their moats cleaned and their duck houses repaired then that'll be o.k.,bless 'em.
