where to get new top made

can anybody recommend a company to make a new top & any idea on cost for a mk2

Well, I looked up "Coachtrimmers" in Yellow Pages, then checked out the possible candidates. The firm I picked was in cycling distance, and had some very nice classics in their workshop which were assurance enough of their standards. They did an excellent job for £200 (in 1984) and I may be visiting them again before long for a replacement.

If you're near the coast or a navigable waterway, you could do worse than investigate sailmakers & chandlers as well. Some of them do similar jobs for boats, and might be cheaper than a car firm. Or so I understand.

We had Taz's hood made by a local firm that makes hoods for river and canal boats, They did do a good job - but it is not cheap!

I got a boat hood manufacturer in Gillingham to make mine,there are probably a few boat hood/canopy manufacturers about where you are in Portsmouth.
