Absolutely brilliant! The result of my hard labour!! Clap2 Pete, I hope we are going to see you at a Club event or two - can you make the Picnic? Admittedly the off-roading, which some consider to be the essence of Scampering, had best be avoided if you want to keep those pristine looks for trade reasons. However, (despite what some people might say or have said in the past) it isn't actually compulsory.

I see a spare number plate but no towbar. Are you taking personalised mats to extremes?

It would be great to see you at the picnic. (Trouble is, if you are there on the Monday, I have a feeling we would not be in the running for 'best mk 3' trophy with you there!!!!!!!!)

Anyway, if you do come, you can be assured of a spare seat in one car or another if you do fancy doing a little off-roading. drive1

Hi all -

Thanks for your kind words-- The Scamp was never supposed to be that good - I just kept buying more & more bits - Gave up keeping a note of what I spent on it.

Have had loads of calls for work since I have been driving it around so it might pay me back one day.

Can't make any meetings this year cus as I said im very busy at work but hope to come along next year.

Now its finished I want another one to play with - only this time I want to keep it rough & basic.

Thanks

Pete

..never fear.. I have the solution to your problems..... I will.. at no cost to yourself.. deliver a MK3 Chassis...that you can "pimp up" in your own time... I will also take away your nice, shiny motor...and look after it for you....I can't say fairer than that, can I ? Can't have a smart motor like that hidden away, now can we?.. Yours..in anticipation.. Jono Very Happy

I got the old girl 10 years ago and thought I could build her better so ---- 10 years later her we are!

Lucky for me the scamp is reg as a Austin scamp Pick up - I could have spent all this time and found It was not road legal.

Hi Dave - No but Bournemouth Mini Club keep asking when I will be there - Its been a bit unreliable with Head gasket problems and the Flywheel fell off after about 50 miles - Head has now been skimmed and seems to be ok at the moment - Frightened to open it up and see what it will do (MG Metro 1275)

Imag0010What What a result - Didn't think there would be so much intrest in the little green machine.

Kind of makes it even more worth the hard work !!.

Just to bore you even more heres a few more little pics -
As you can see it was painted yellow but I had a change of colour half way through build. Think there must be about 2 tons of paint on it Smile ------The last picture is when I bought the wheels and discovered they would not fit without BIG arches and we cut the back off to make a pick up!!

Side panels are bonded plastic window board over steel!!!.

Little picture is what it was like when I found it. Before the days of Digital cameras!!

Sorry about pictures being in the wrong order ------------Think thats enough for now

Welcome to the mad house!!-

Don't spend as long as me doing yours up - I have missed all the long hot summers and don't like leaving it parked if I go anywhere in case I get back and find someone has climbed all over it - as I said in a recent post I just got carried away- Cost about 6k to do and prob worth about 2k on a good day!!- Still it is fun to drive about.

Keep us posted how yours gets on.
