That is really nice. Looking the RAF paintwork and the magic wand gear change allowing the fittment of a custome bench front seat.
Re: Nice Mk1 on Ebay
I've just sent him a message,1963 Mini Scamp is not really the truth as the Scamp didn't start production until 1969,the 1963 bit is the donor vehicle, good Mk 1 though,I wonder what chassis number it is?

Re: Nice Mk1 on Ebay
Thanks for verifying me
It's me, the owner of the above!!!
The chassis number is MC8 and I've added that to the description. No idea how it helps!!!
Now, bear with me, I'm just an eccentric old woman who bought "Harriet" in 2002 because I loved her. Any help much appreciated!
Is my description rubbish? I didn't know what to put.
Have I started her too high? I just started her at the minimum I'd like, any less and I may as well keep her as she costs me hardly anything per year.
I would love her to go to an enthusiast though as she's not getting the best from me. I was able to take her for several spins a week for the first few years but now I'm unable to and it seems such a shame.
Any help MUCH appreciated My main downfall I guess is being "overseas"!!!

Re: Nice Mk1 on Ebay
Welcome to the forum LightningIOW.
Personally I really really like your 'Harriet' some really nice touches and a lot of originality and if I had the room I know that I would be extremely tempted for such an original MK1 Scamp.
All the best of luck with the sale.

Roof pics
It might improve your ad if you had a pic of it with the roof up

Re: Nice Mk1 on Ebay
Thank you all
Good idea about the roof pic. I hate her roof up because she looks silly!!! If it brightens later though I'll get her out, put it up and get a pic
Edit: And done! I see a little tear in the window part I've mentioned it in the description. The rest is fine.

Re: Nice Mk1 on Ebay
Don't think she looks silly at all! However if I might make a further suggestion, Lightning, a pic of the engine room would also be a good idea, especially if it's as tidy as the outside.
Incidentally (anorak alert) the holes in the frame, level with the roundels on each side, show where the original Mk1 frame would have been fitted.

Thank you Good idea, I'll do the engine, never thought of that!!! No idea if it's tidy or not but it looks OK to me!
Ooo, that was an anorak alert! Did she have a different Mk 1 body at some time then do you think?

Re: Nice Mk1 on Ebay
HELP! I've had an offer and don't know what to do!!!! It's for £1750. I'd be pleased with that obviously but do I take it or let the auction run to the end on Saturday and risk either not selling her of getting less???? She has 80 watchers but some are my friends and some will be from here and some will be just to see if she sells or not. I've said I'll sleep on it but any advice here MUCH appreciated!

Roof supports
I think that Bob (Rum Tum) is on about the side roundels and the holes in the box section above.
These would normally have had brackets which pivots another roof hoop support which would come up nearly verticle above the drivers head
have a look on the main index pages at other Mk1's, especially the yellow one with the red roof.

Re: Nice Mk1 on Ebay
Well, it turned into a non event in the end! Even with 110 watchers.
An hour before the auction ended my Dad phoned, my son had just told him I was selling her (I never thought to) and he said he wants her! BUT, at over 80 I'm not sure it's the car for him!!
I'll let you all know and thanks again for your support

Re: Nice Mk1 on Ebay
If you can hang on for another six months or so, you'd be most welcome to come to one of the Club meetings, with or without the Scamp. It might even be a good 'try before you buy' opportunity for your dad.

Re: Nice Mk1 on Ebay
That would be nice Dad has been in her, I'd completely forgotten he had! I'll know more on Monday
But whatever, it would be nice to meet you all.
Lol, I'm getting several messages saying, your car didn't sell what would I take for her! I expect that!!!

Re: Nice Mk1 on Ebay
I think,if my memory serves me rightly, the trip to the mainland is the most expensive in the UK,for distance travelled, from the IOW.But if your pockets will allow,it would be great to see you all,and yet another Mk.1 out of the woodwork.
