newark kit car show
hi all just received this email about the kit car show
Hi,
This news may be of interest to owners of Off Road vehicles. Over the weekend of the Newark Kit Car Show, 19/20 June, The East Midlands Off Road Club (EMORC) is organising an event for charity on the Off Road Course. The course is located near our Public Car Parking. The club will be offering to drive passengers round the course for a donation to Air Ambulance. Anyone wishing to be driven round the course will be able to choose which of the club vehicles they would prefer. The club are contacting the Air Ambulance to see if it is possible for the Helicopter to make an appearance at the Off Road Course.
EMORC is an MSA registered club and have the ability, public insurance etc. to run an off road event. The event is organised by them and is only open to their members. They scrutineer their members vehicles before they are allowed on the course. The club is happy to accept new members and if you are interested in joining them please contact them. If you are interested in becoming a member we would recommend that you get in touch with them before the event, we do not know how many vehicles they can accept for this event.
Details and contact are on their website.

Membership to E.M.O.R.C costs just £15 per year this allows entry into all our activities including Trialing, Competition Safari, Tyro Trials, Greenlaning, Social Activities etc.
Also, as we are affiliated the M.S.A (Motor Sports Association) membership to Emorc will allow you to enter into many other M.S.A. Motor Sport Clubs as well.

Re: Newark Kit Car Show
Many years ago Mr Bridger and myself attended an EMORC trial and double drove Cyclops. I seem to remember Steve won, beating me by 2 points, and the Drover owners weren't too impressed.
They are not a bad club and seem happy to accept 2 wheel drives.

That's a bit like the TYRO trial we all did organised by Lincs off-road. Didn't they all get arsy when the little Scamps beat the land rovers. they even moved us into different classes halfway through the event in the hope a d'rover would still win. unfortunately for them it didn't!!!!
You can alway tell a Land Rover cock, there the one that either looks like Ray Mears, a Lumberjack or Dave & Lindsey (The Fast Show)!

Re: Newark Kit Car Show
Tied up with the village fete all Saturday - Brenda runs a plant stall, which needs a lot of setting up and taking down. I'm on the field almost before anyone else, and still packing up 12 hours later after everyone else has finished. But it's the second biggest money spinner (after the Grand Draw) and so worth doing.
Should be with you all on Sunday though.

Sounds good, Bob. Brenda might be able to help/advise me.... I'm after a Patchouli Tree (the fragrant variety), any ideas where I can get one?
Thanks in Advance,

I bought some Jamboree Summer Prize Draw raffle tickets off a young lad in our road yesterday. He was telling me how he's got to raise £2,000 to be able to go in July 2011.... Thinking about recruiting him for all of those little jobs that we hate!
Elaine.
Re: Newark Kit Car Show
We won't be attending Newark either, working..... Which also includes quite a bit of off-roading, how lucky are we? Getting paid to off-road!
Can't wait to take Albert the Great White Monster up Iveshead..... Getting his cam belt changed first though.
Elaine & Reg Who now has TWO monsters!

Re: Newark Kit Car Show
That's a bit unfair Rob... we were not put off by miss Newarks pancake makeup or her seemingly 3 shades of suntan!!! (Very heavy foundation on her face, orange spray tan on her midrift & white legs!)
I think there was only 3 people pulling for most of the event. Although my boots were theoretically capable of providing traction...the fact that my feet were hardly on the floor may have been a contributing factor!!
Fortunately you can't see me in the pics...at 5 foot 4 1/2" I was about 6" shorter than the rest of the team .
This resulted in the rope been at such a height I was nearly on bloody tiptoes!
That's our theory about why we only came 4th...(out of 7)...least non of us collapsed!
Hehe, was a good crack tho'.
Neil

Re: Newark Kit Car Show
I - or rather, the Scamp - had the misfortune to splutter to a halt about halfway home and need rescuing by the RAC. Looks like the problem was the condenser (which incidentally is less than a year old), and the RAC no longer carry emergency supplies of such obsolete items. However, that's the first time in 36 years I've had a fault I couldn't fix, so I'm not complaining.
