Nottinghamshire Green lanning
Hello Scampers, I am going to do a bit of light green lanning in Nottinghamshire on the 27th September, it will be some of the green lanes we done on the Turkey run. Anyone interested we will be meeting at 9.30am Mac Donalds at Newark A46/A1 its a good meeting place, or at my house for a cheap breakfast will be served between 8 till 9. All are welcome. Its a nice gentle green lanning don't need sump guards..

Will we be able to take the Jimny without scratching it up, or are there some narrow/low bits?

Hi Elaine I can't think of any narrow bits that would scratch the Suzuki.. you could allways turn around and meet us at the end of the lane if so?

Re: Nottinghamshire Green lanning
Hello fellow Scampers. Myself and Mac done loads of green lanes today (Saturday) we travelled in total over 120 miles we where out all day. There are quite a few lanes that are narrow as the hedge rows are over grown, so no good for any thing posh unless you have loads of "T cut".. sorry Elaine.
If it doesn't rain much till next Sunday, you don't really need mud N snows tyres as all the lanes have dried out, road tyres are good enough..
Take care Rick..

That's me out then I don't want to knacker my paintwork.
But surely all of the ramblers and horsey folk who want us stopped from green laning, tend to the hedgerows, etc?
Elaine.

Re: Nottinghamshire Green lanning
Everyone went for the cheap breakfast at my house with Rosie cooking breakfast for 11.
We where out all day, started at 9.30 till 5 ish. Everyone enjoyed it. Tony had a bit of a tracking problem half way around, due to him bending a steering rack or steering arm. After retracking the Scamp we was on our way. we stopped for a beer, then we stopped for a KFC we drove allday. Thanks for everyone that turned up.

Re: Nottinghamshire Green lanning
Was a great day.
Many thanks to Rose for the breakfast and to Rick and Mac for sorting out the route.
We only met two pairs of "you shouldn't be doing this..." people - apparently WE were being inconsiderate to all of the cyclists! (everyone drove very courteously) and the other guy seemed to think we were driving on a footpath - not according to the info Rick had!
Anyway - see Rose for her opinion on them!
Thanks again.
See you all soon

Re: Nottinghamshire Green lanning
Tony there are allways some people moaning, they are so called walkers, but I think walkers should have a "n" in it somewhere. If it wasn't for people driving down the byways they would be all over grown and then they wouldn't be able to walk/cycle down then..
What a load of walkers, I forgot the "n"
At least we enjoyed ourselves...

Re: Nottinghamshire Green lanning
Have you ever noticed that when a group of Ramblers walks into a pub (rather than sitting outside on the Pub's benches eating their own sandwiches and using the facilities without at least buying a pint! Tight Barsterds!) they all wear carrier bags over their boots (and red socks)? And why do they do this? is it to keep the mud they've dragged all down the road from the last public footpath from ruining the Landlords carpets? No it's because they're all bent and into cottaging!
If they're all wearing carrier bags it makes it more difficult to indentify the culprits when they get arrested in the toilets!
If I had it my way i'd shoot the lot of them & the hang them by their red socks from the nearest Public Footpath sign!

Bad day at the office James? I am a walker and have a couple of pairs of red socks!
The countryside is open to everyone (well some of it still is) - as usual there are the Victor Meldrew's who moan for a living - but the walkers I have met arn't a bad bunch - you are a long way from getting your bus pass - chill out dude think of your blood pressure.
Hope you have a nice birthday

Victor, You appear to have lost your sense of humour.
I don't know where you misplaced it but it'll probably be somewhere near a missing 'n'.
BTW, The party was great. Who needs a Hot Tub?
