A Passat (1973- ), Q registration (1983-2001), corners that would fail the SVA (pre 1998), but the article says it was converted in 2015. Something funny there, I thought. Following up the links, I found pics of the shed with a V-prefix (1999-2000) registration, presumably that of the donor.

However, a bit more searching turned up an Autocar article (here) which says that the car did get through the IVA test. We need to contact the owner - he knows something that we don't!
