Hello from a new member
Hello
Just registered on the site, mainly because I have seen what I am almost certain is my old scamp on ebay (have commented on in the for sale section). Now seeking some advice.
I am out of touch with the V5 issues, not really followed the kit car scene since the 1980's. However...I may just be tempted to bid.
The V5 says it is a mini, does not mention Scamp. I recall this was the case when we got it registered, it was registered on a Q plate. Are there now issues with that for the MOT and getting it on the road?
Thanks any for help.

Re: Hello from a new member
Hi and welcome to the mad house.
You should find somewhere on the V5 the following words - or something very similar - "Kit assembled from parts - some of which may or may not be new"
The important bit is the word "Kit"

Re: Hello from a new member
Beg to differ there - my V5s say "Assembled from parts", no mention of a kit.

Re: Hello from a new member
Thanks for the replies...still not sure if I would be OK.
We bought the car assembled and running, but not registered. So registered it on a Q plate in 1984, before all the new legislation came in. Ran it for a couple of years and sold it.
It has been MOT'd and running in the last 10 years....so if it says it is assembled or a kit or parts this is OK?

Re: Hello from a new member
If it's on a Q-Plate it should be ok. Have you ask the seller what the V5 says re: notes etc?

I'll defer to your first hand knowledge there - I haven't seen a V5 with the relevant wording for a number of years
Re: Hello from a new member
One of mine says "rebuilt - assembled from parts some or all of which were not new" the other doesn't have any notes at all :s both say Mini Scamp inside, both Mk3's bit weird

Re: Hello from a new member
It does seem a bit random if the notes say it's rebuilt or not. My MK3 does but the MK2 doesn't and they both have Scamp included in the Make.

I've also just recently enrolled as a new member but for different reasons. I have recently purchased a MK3 Scamp as a project and as far as I know it's registered as a mini clubman, still to see the logbook as the previous owner sent it off to Swansea.
My forum name is "Minivanman" this due to the fact that I've owned a mini van for that long it seems like a lifetime and am currently a member of a local mini club north of the border. My choosing to add a scamp to my collection seems a bit crazy especially with the climate up here I'll only be able to use it for a few days every year, this year has been exceptionally sunny.

I like the swing away spare wheel carrier.
Can I be a pain and ask for some more pics of it?
