RE; The Good Old Days ?
Just a quick one,(ON A CALMER NOTE) As i havent been a Scamp Enthusiast very long, And quite a few have been in this Club some years now, Can you slightly more mature folk recollect the activities of yesteryear? I know its hard to keep the ideas comming in when the answer is "Been there Done that", but it may be of interest to us that have joined in the last few years what activities have been organised ? - Cheers 4x4 Rob.

It will probably be easier, and quicker, to recall what we haven't done, such as:
at least, AFAIK.
- Brewery tour
- Sahara safari
- Paintballing
- Collective Rolling Road session
- ditto Skidpan
- Wife-swapping (as a club activity)
at least, AFAIK.

Dave, you're going to die (again).

Didn't some guys drive a MK2 to the Sahara in 1981? And I know of a non club member that drove a MK1 to Mongolia in 2007.
And I thought that wife / partner swapping was a compulsory club activity in the late 80's and early 90's, although there might be other forum members that are a little more knowledgable on this particular club activity
On a serious note though, there used to be two picnics a year, Robin and Elaine were kind enough to organise the Peak District do for many many years. There was a French holiday for a number of years, which Wezgit daan sarf is admirably trying to restart with the trip to Belgium this year. Rick had a few Hampshire do's, and Mike Bingham ran some Shropshire green lane weekends, oh, and mustn'e forget the Stafford ones that Mr Yates ran as well. I'm sure there are many more too if someone else would like to add to the list.

There was the Bedford Bash......................I got lost in Bedfordshire, while out on Cookie's mental TS250. I only went for a 5 minute ride, after a 40 minute power sliding frenzy I returned. Everyone thought I'd fell of and killed myself! That was one of my most memorable rides ever!
I might have broken the 'Pea' there as well..............

Dave - surely she's worth more than a high lift jack and a 4 pin diff - plus a set of alloys would be a fairer exchange
