E-bay Scamp (?!) Empty My dear boy.........

Post  Mr Bridger Mon Oct 05, 2009 11:35 am

My dear boy.

That is indeed a Gecko.
I owned one about 12 years ago and modified it to take Peugeot 205 front suspension and running gear.
Sold it before I finished it, but not before James and Reg saw it and copied it.
Made by a man in Tamworth who built amongst other things, rides for places like Alton Towers.
His name is Ingham I believe and he was called Autocraft.

If i remember right it was to be rear engined? I think we were already onto the 205/309 idea but I have to admit the simplicity of fabrication allowed by the 205 suspension was one of the insparations for going down the peugeot route. Steves strut top templates became the Monster's tower tops.
