It's interesting to note that the Anderson Cub extensions only extend the wheelbase. The Andrew's Scamp ones also raised the ride height by being angled downwards.

If i remember correctly they increase wheelbase by 3" and height by 1", though i may be wrong. Help needed..!! Icon_biggrin

Yep, and a pair are sat in my garage. Steve Edmonds also has a pair, maker unknown, that are actually better than the Steve Taylor ones.

The guy who built my Mk2 extended the trailing arms two inches by cutting and inserting a length of gas pipe... which sounds extremely dodgy, but they're brazed in, the alignment is correct and the MoT examiner didn't remark on them.

Unfortunately, without booster springs the extra leverage caused the back end to sag, and anyway the pivot bushes were past it, so I've replaced the arms with normal length ones, with some misgivings as the wheel isn't now central in the arch. However this won't be a problem if the intended 6-wheel conversion ever comes to pass.

Run away from Steve's 40mm box trailing arms Jono and take big steps! Sarah Irish has a pair on the back of her Scamp. The deflection AND twist in the trailing arms is actually visible, camber and toe changes whilst driving!

If i was going to fabricate a set I'd go down the route used by autograssers. Harry Hockley makes one's for Rally cars that look easy enough to copy.

They look very similar to the ones that Steve Edmonds has. Much more substantial than my Steve Taylor ones.
