Nomad update
Grrrrr. Typed a massive post and the forum ate it before I'd finished!
Here goes again......we've made major efforts with the Nomad over the last few weekends. For those who don't know, I bought it a good few years ago. Dave owned it at one time in its life. It's since been quite neglected until we picked it up and re-homed it. It has moved house 3 times with us now and has been waiting for us to re-built it!!
Work so far includes:
shell stripped bare
inside rubbed down and painted black
roll bars rubbed down and re-painted black
outside rubbed down ready for painting (NATO matt green)!
rear subframe off and stripped of parts
rear subframe rubbed down and painted (today - taken all day)
both rear arms stripped and re-built and ready to go back on once subframe is dry.
Engine was junk and that went a few years ago. My old 1100 +20 mini engine is waiting to go in. That needs stripping first to make sure nothing needs replacing. The petrol tank was also junk so we need to buy a new one.
The paint has also moved house 3 times since it was bought and has now gone missing so I need to buy another tin (and it's not cheap)!! Oh well.
It doesn't sound like we've done much but it's slow progress. But we feel we're getting somewhere now.
The intention (and mad rush) is to get it finished for IMM in August but don't put any money on that!!!
Phew....just relaxing with a drink now. Knackered!

Hi is this the same brand of paint you bought..(BECKER PAINTS).

it seems to take a long time to dry so it says in the description.Ian

Can't you make one?
Glad to hear you've also been a busy lady, made me feel much better/more normal (other women seem to leave their men to it).
Elaine.

It's not branded paint. It's genuine forces paint from the army surplus shop near us. I bought it a few years ago in anticipation but it's gone missing after having moved house 3 times with it! Oops.

Unfortunately neither of us at any good at bodywork type things and we don't have the facilities either to make one (even if we did have the inclination ).
Garden at the new house is going mad around our ears as there are far more important things to do....like fix the cars! I suppose most girly girls would be scared of breaking a finger nail. I don't understand all that myself!

Re: Nomad update
Ta for the link. I spotted that previously when I was looking for paint. That could work out quite pricey....they're not very big tins, are they?
Plus, if I visit our local army surplus it means I can spend a fortune on lots of other army goodies too!

Re: Nomad update
Spotted the bigger tins. Once you've added postage it's far more expensive than the stuff from our army store.
