Hi if you mean this one in Taunton --- http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C36198 it never made the money -
px for a mini to get to university. went for about £1300 in total I think. ( I was after it myself but the wife said no more cars!!)
Good luck with your sale - it looks a nice car.
Pete
That one WAS mine (regret it a LOT!!)
I don't mean to blow my own trumpet but mine was in better condition than that, fully carpeted interior inc covered doors, 1275 GT engine in good condition and was a LWB. And mine was up for sale when everyone still had jobs and maybe even a spare bit of cash!
Looking back, I think I may have over-estimated the price but I was very interested in minis at the time (and still am) and swapped it for this:
Which I think was up for around the £1800 mark?
What I'm getting at basically is that (and I'm by no means an expert) your car is a bit over-priced considering the condition.
You do also have to take into account that people have a bit less spare cash at the moment too!
My advice, keep it for yourself, I heavily regret selling mine!
I'm gunna be lurking in the For Sale section ...........

Re: For sale Mini scamp mk3
Personally looking at your scamp you have no right to comment on the state of mine. the car does have carpets but were removed whilst being cleaned. If you have such an issue with mine i would like to see your scamps and see why there so much better. A real car enthusiast would see past a little bit of rust on the nuts and bolts and actually look at the condition of the car. The interior can easily be changed and the engine bay tarted up. So thanks for your crude and unwanted comments. by the way, way to pick out the most unimportant picture of the bunch. Try looking at the actual exterior of the car.

Hang on! No one is being crude - maybe one or two hard, but true facts, that is all.
We would love you to join the Scamp Owners club and take a look at our Scamps. They range from VERY neat and tidy to downright scruffy at times. Many of us spend quite a lot of time pushing our beloved little cars to - and beyond - their limits. Look at the photos on the forum and on the main owners club web site.
The sad fact is - no matter how much has been spent on them, we all know that they are only worth what someone is prepared to pay. In most cases, that is less than £1000. For a really good one, a little more.
The general advice is well meant. The paint work on your Scamp looks very tidy. Nice colour too.
My personal advice is - if you can - keep it and enjoy driving it in the future. Come along and join us. We have lots of fun and are really a very friendly club. We all take the mickey out of other people\'s Scamps. It is part of owning one! We laugh at each other too! However, we all help each other and enjoy mucking about in Scamps together too.
Hope to see you at a Scamp event soon!

Re: For sale Mini scamp mk3
If it's so easy to "tart it up" why don't you do that!? you may get more money for it.
I was aiming to advise you on a more appropriate price.
I understand that people's opinions differ, however I can't understand how you think that yours is worth £1200 more than the one I sold,
People have told you that it's not worth what you are asking, so instead of having a go, why not ask them a more appropriate price to sell it at, who better to offer advice about how much it's worth!?!
Mine was a long wheel base model and apprently built by (i think i got the name right??) Andrew Maclean himself and only the 3rd ever built.
Registered on the V5c as a Mini Scamp Pickup.
Here's the pictures you asked for, how much would everyone value mine at?.....
I still vote keep it!!
(Apologies if the guy who has it now is on here, just making a point!)

I bought a mk2 for 1000 pounds in the 1980s and a mk1 for 600 pounds in the late 1980s and a mk3 for 850 pounds this year. the mk1 was the cheapest but the best. yet the mk1 unlike the mk2 and mk3 had very
little on it (roof doors etc not fitted)
so my only advice is dont take what people say on this site as being nasty .all the members
are helpful.(you could prove their advice wrong and try ebay).but I doubt it.Ian

Are you referring to me, or James? Mine isn't quite finished yet, so you wouldn't have seen the interior, or even a body panel I've spent around £5,000 on lightweight, uprated parts, etc for it so far....... but haven't got the interior sorted, apart from nice new seats.
And James' orange one is very smart, see below.
I'm sure James will put a pic of his leather interior, smart dashboard, etc on.
A real car enthusiast realises how important the engine is. In this particular case I'd at least replace the hoses, loom, HT leads, jubilee clips, etc.
Look at the exterior? Yes, it's been repsrayed............. including the door handles.
I think I've explained myself enough now,
E.
Re: For sale Mini scamp mk3
Thanks for draging me into this Elaine!
Sqaure Apple, Firstly I don't have an issue with your Scamp, I'm just not conviced by your justifications (and photos) that it's worth as much as you think. Don't try to kid a kidder as they say.
You also say "try looking at the exterior of the car" (which looks quite tidy I might add) but anyone can polish a turd by slapping some paint on it (and I'm talking about all vehicles here!) so the give aways to a keen eye are always the engine bay and underside because they're difficult to tart up unless they were tidy in the first place and to be blunt the standard of the engine bay is not what I'd expect from a £3000 Scamp!
BTW, I'm not having a go, just telling it like it is. From someone who knows a little about the subject.

Didn't you drag yourself into this James????

£3000!!! No I really shouldn't try to type when I'm laughing this hard!
Seriously though, Looking at the photos above I think £600-£800 would be where you should be aiming for a correctly registered MK3 Scamp.
And btw, I'm awefully sorry if you don't agree with my valuation.
Re: For sale Mini scamp mk3
That's what I was trying to explain everyone was doing James. I didn't see anyone being crude! - Well not on here anyway - and not about this Scamp.

Re: For sale Mini scamp mk3
As I mentioned in an earlier post......
No one is trying to be nasty about your Scamp.......only give you a realistic indication of the potential price.
If it helps.....I was interested in the LWB MK3 (The Red One) when it was advertised, but at it's original price I didn't give it a second glance.
Ebay can be a real leveller.........if you really want to sell it, put it on and set your reserve high.....you'll get a feel for the value, and may even sell it.
Why don't you keep it.......get your dad to bring you to one of our meets (preferably Stourport) and really try out your Scamp .....I'll buy him a beer and you a coke !
Also, don't be too hasty with your comments
This forum and the SOC has a wide range of owners including 2 MOT Testers, Engineers, Fabricators, etc, and most have owned Scamps for 20 plus years......so yes they probably do have the right and the knowledge to comment.
Anyway, we're trying to help ! Really

Seriously, like anything a Scamp is worth what someones prepared to pay.......if they're prepared to pay what your asking....snatch their hands off !
Scamps vary in price from Free, very cheap, cheap, and not so cheap ! There have been a couple that have been pitched at £1500-£2000 but I'm not sure they actually made those prices.
