Chris is on look out for nice scamp- not too much work- so has to run.
He will do prettying up if needs be.
Just as cost of insurance for a 1st car is good and cheap- well- same for boys and girls-ish.
Not desperate now- but over next few months- could ppl keep eye out.
thankies.

Hiya, welcome to forum, and thanks for reply.

That is rather out of our price range- we were really looking for one that needs work doin, but runs- so not too costly.

thankyou very much though,

keep the scamp- and come to meets- lots of fun!

will b shame to sell.
To b honest, i had the scamp (daisy) 1st, then cuz she was impractical and un-insurable before passin my test bought my mini- which was covered in stars- (i wanted something that stood out to)

then once I passed, The mini became to small, so got a corsa. ( I have since sold both) I got all sad wen I sold my mini - cried- know it sounds sad- but was rather attatched.

I still dont use scamp as everyday car- just 4 bit of fun.

Has ne1 ever been in scamp club with the "Square Apple"?

I wouldn't worry, at £3000 you're not likely to sell it any time soon. drunken

Shocked Blimey.....if they don't like yours send them around to me......they can have my three for a knock down price of £2950 each Very Happy .....and one of them is a Limited Edition model Wink ........with a raised roof. Twisted Evil

If Scamps are selling at these prices I reckon we can solve the Credit Crunch oursleves Smile

Only joking.......

Seriously, like anything a Scamp is worth what someones prepared to pay.......if they're prepared to pay what your asking....snatch their hands off ! Laughing

Scamps vary in price from Free, very cheap, cheap, and not so cheap ! There have been a couple that have been pitched at £1500-£2000 but I'm not sure they actually made those prices.

Good luck !

A somewhat academic question I know, but if the SVA regs hadn't killed off the Scamp, how much would it cost to build a new one today?

My own Mk1, using a recon 850 engine and gearbox and a lot of new bits, was about £750 in 1973, half the price of a new Mini. I make that £6800 at today's prices. So perhaps £3K for a good example isn't that extravagant. As Dave points out, a thing is worth what people are prepared to pay for it.

Yeah, K's half chassis was a generous gift from Mr Bridger all those years ago.

No idea how much i've spent on it over the years. It's not for sale but I'd swap it for a Almond Green DB9 with Biscuit leather (not that i'm choosy!) Wink

Hey, Then i'd just build another Scamp! pirat

Most people who buy scamps dont want an off the shelf, pay your money and drive.

They want to play with it (or like nic get their dad to play with it)

Mine had been dry stored for 4 years although the engine was a good runner. Talking to the owner and you can normally tell if he knows what he is talking about and has maintained it properly.

All i did was change the brake pads and shoes and adjust the handbrake and it passed the MOT.

OK i paid £870 for mine and trailered it from saltburn nr middlesborough, which some might think is over the top!

Oh buy the way if i could have afforded a Moke i would have got one, but as i cant weld or spray paint the Scamp was a good option.

Oh and the clubs not to bad either party drink

lol- i banned him from playin with mine- hence i made him buy Taz--- keep his mits of my Daisy.
As i have said- the scamp for sale is very pretty!
hope sale goes well.

Daisy might get a new friend if its new owner brings it along to meets.

I think im more in the buy ready made option ( i guess we did do the seats and dash in Daisy, but other than that she was as u see her now)- my extent of car care goes as far as checkin oil- sometimes, and makin them very clean.
(by the way- proton looks better than wen he came out of show room- have spent last 2 days on him- he beautiful!)

Still lookin for a scamp for Chris- if ne1 has ideas, he prefers a mk 2 or 3.

to be fair, parents were tottin up what taz has cost so far, and it easily draws level with what i paid for daisy... so makin them does seem to tot up in costs- (spesh as there still goin on taz.) (for cheep iccle kit cars)--- here we come Westfields! (there factory is near chris's, so i like driving daisy past it) they alwals have scrap mg's outside)

Who ever the new owner of the Square apple is, get them to come along to club meets.

daisy at garage (talkin of them running up costs) she is kindly droppin mud all over the floor- how sweet of her.

nic, Dirty daisy, and a very clean Zazzo.

daisy was trailered up from Down south some were, and i got her whilst lookin for a moke- (Sorry scamp club) the moke seemed a nice medium between a quad and a mini- (I wanted one or both of these) she same up on e-bay as "mini Scamp- like a moke" and i fell for her and had to have her.

the club does make the scamps- far more fun than ur average mini club, aulthough alcohol consumption seems abbout the same.
