It's Mk1 Scamp all right. Looks like someone started to remodel the front end, maybe to accommodate the front mounted radiator. Also, the windscreen has been moved back and a tubular rollbar fitted. No sign of a fuel filler, unless they've turned the tank round and it's hidden by the spare tyre.
The fact that the body's painted and reg plates attached suggests that the car was completed at some point before the front end changes were put in hand, so it's possible it was on the road. The registration could be either that of the donor or the Scamp's own - wonder what the V5 says?

Mk3 fuel tank
Fuel tank is fitted full width between wheel arches. Dont know the fancy name for the cross-section, but it is a square on top of a triangle. The back of the Scamp slopes forward between the wheels.
