New Years celebrations cancelled in Dubai Empty New Years celebrations cancelled in Dubai

New Year's Eve celebrations have been cancelled in Dubai. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the cancellation of all forms of celebrations marking the New Year in Dubai emirate, as an act of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Both Nettie and I have the flu so we will be seeing the New Year in with a hot toddy, too much to hope for world peace in 2009 I suppose - we both wish you all a Happy New Year.
