Hi all,
Today was the dummy run for the turkey on the 28 december, This was The first green lane we went down..
Then we Went off to have a play in a ford
But This Is How rob 4x4 Scamp went Home After And electrical Fault
Some of the lane were nice and gentle and then some other s were a bit more rough and pleanty of muddy puddles to go through on the way..
All In all was good day carnt wait for the end of the month to do it again..
If anyone else is interested in joining us on the 28 then please do so

I bet Rob forgot to spray all the wiring with WD40 before going paddling, even Clarkson managed to keep going when he submerged the new Fiesta driving it off a landing craft (I bet that had been well waterproofed before hand).

Hello you keen Scampers,
Where was you all???? The real Scampers, green laners and Die hards, notice I didnt put off-roaders, that seem to be once a year?
Steve Ed, Rob thats 4X4 Rob before you think its the other one and myself had a good time doing the green lanes there are plenty of them we drove all day and only seemed to do about half of them..so on the 28th December you keen Scampers, better come up and enjoy yourself and rap up warm as we are up north.
I am getting used to it up here, as I know when I am warm I must be indoors..
Hope to see you soon.....Have a Merry Christmas and a lot more Scamping New year...
Take care my Friends..Rick.N. Rosie
P.S For more details of this coming event see Turkey Run under events..

Always check the depth before hand!
This ford was a bit deeper that Cornish Andy realised!

Dummy run.
Had a great time, met a group of walkers just as Rick was crossing the Ford. Rick stopped in the middle and thay all had a laugh !
Rob them towed him out with Mac stood on his back bumper attaching the tow rope.
A couple asked a few questions about the Scamps and one nice lady asked me if I would take her across.
She climbed in and was giggling like a school girl...........
I got half way and I beached it on a rock, the lady screamed because she thought I had got stuck.
I managed to reverse and try another route, this time making it across.

Rob's Pics
Hi there hers just a few pics of my most enjoyable day out on the Dummy
Turkey Run with Steve Mac Rick & Rose, First off meeting at Ricks
for a superb breakfast then off on our off road excursions, A longish
run up the A1 at breakneck speed several miles later on to the rough
stuff.
After quite a few miles we came across a "small brook" as you can see from Mac's photos Martin, i hardly got my Nuts Wet. And in order to fail you first have to take part, having last saw your Scamp 2yrs ago at stourport does it really take 2 years to fix a clutch!!.excluding other issues. So with true cameradery we made the course apart from my wiring issue and nothing to do with water i managed to do a Harry Ramsden on my loom! after loosing an alternator bolt thankfully Rick stopped and gave assistance.A Big thank you to him. Overall a great day what with Steve locating a cosy pub on route providing a much needed break.A great day in true Scamping hospitality.Thank you all, Heres to you all wishing you a Wonderfull christmas & a happy scamping new year...Cheers..4x4 Rob.

Re: Xmas Dummy Turkey Run
Well Rob as everyone can see we had a real good time using our Scamps. Just to put the record straight you dont have to thank anyone, its the members in taking part that make a event worth while..As a lot of people who have put on events in the pass , knows its worth while if members take part...
If there is any members that wish to pop in at my house for a cuppa tea before 9am are more than welcome my phone number is 07714075459,
See you on the 28th for the real Turkey run.
Take care Rick.

Re: Xmas Dummy Turkey Run
Just a quick note, The green lanes we are using are very gentle. There are people attending in Scamps on road tyres, Mac is using his day to day shogun jeep thingy and Chris Coultard is using his day to day perjero jeep thingy, they both will have babies on board, dont know what the their women will be saying, lets hope they have the windows up....Dont like shouting?? I wouldnt recommend a normal road car, but anything with abit of ground clearance would be allright...Not like the 306 that New-ark Herberts used in Hampshire many years ago..
See you all on Sunday

Peugeot 306
It was a peugeot 309 diesel, with a 6mm steel sump guard and double 40mm box section bull bar. Top speed of 90 (downhill) and good at pushing and pulling skips and trees for fun.

It wasnt a petrol Peugeot?
You are right Chris, you dont need 6,000 RPM to go green laning. The less said the better..

What a pathetic dig, at least get your facts right - 6,000 RPM, pah!
As for off-roading, we can go whenever we like..... we'll be tootling around the woods in the Jimny again today (for our other hobby).
Reg has off-roaded Scamps since 1994 (his own scratch-built since 2000), so for the time being it's a case of been there, done that...
Just because we no longer attend all of the Scamp Owners Club events doesn't mean that we shouldn't go to the likes of Stourport, does it?
We don't rig the awards, the majority of voters think that it's the Best Off-Road Adapted Scamp currently in the club. If it bothers you that much, get back in the garage.
Elaine in a field, but not necessarily near you!
