Different SCAMP Facebook pages
Hi
On Facebook, its a closed Group - Scamp Owners Club. The admin person is called Mini Scamp. To join this group, you need to request to join and then Mini Scamp can approve or you could request to be a friend of Mini Scamp and they can then add you to the group.
Hope this helps.

That's bloody great when members of 8 years don't know about this.

Don't worry Rob,the forum still exists for those, like you, that don't like Facebook. As a regular Facebook user all the members on facebook were contacted.

Re: Different SCAMP Facebook pages ?
I previously found a Scamp facebook page but there wasn't much going on and didn't know there was another until yesterday.
Having been involved with historic karting I have seen what was a brilliant website die a death because of Facebook. I think it's a common thing and a lot of forums have suffered. I think a lot is down to modern phone technology for which Facebook seems far more suited.
I probably stuck in the past sitting here typing this on our old desktop which is still just working after numerous capasitor swaps !
I hope there continues to be a place for both the forum and Facebook page.

Re: Different SCAMP Facebook pages ?
When the facebook problem cropped up I did request that the club had a separate account just for the club members.
I am disappointed that this happened and nobody informed the membership in general.
Go on give us a clue someone

Re: Different SCAMP Facebook pages ?
I know Tony started a group years ago, but has done little with it in the last two years, so one of them might be that one.

Re: Different SCAMP Facebook pages ?
It does seem a shame that people who post on facebook about their cars don't put the same info on here. I admit I have gone a bit OTT doing the same but facebook stuff only really lasts as long as it's at the top of the page whereas the website can be searched through at any time.
Do others prefer Facebook for a particular reason ? I'm just interested as it seems to happen with a lot of website forums.

Re: Different SCAMP Facebook pages ?
It would appear that the facebook scampownersclub (SOC members only) is being used to see who is going to events like the Hat Camp according to Nettie ? who is Mini Scamp ?

Re: Different SCAMP Facebook pages ?
I am going to the hat camp but have put that info on the forum. I think there is a danger that the SOC website and the forum will become less used if there are too many different sites. That would be a great shame as a lot of effort has gone into them.

So true - I've always felt Facebook can easily destroy good websites and associated forums. Without wishing to upset any fans of Facebook in my opinion it is best to use a properly organised forum, whereas Facebook can easily descend into 'chatter'.
-and yes I am a bit of a lurker - had a good conversation with wezgit at the IMM though.
Re: Different SCAMP Facebook pages ?
Personally, I'm quite happy with the forum. I've not signed up for Facebook or Twitter, and have no particular intention of doing so. Unless, of course, somebody would like to suggest a really good reason while I should.
