Picnic marred by left rubbish
As usual Nettie and I are nearly always the last to leave but Robin & Elaine were last this time, great to see old friends and meet new members, pity about the rain. Rick & Rosie have past the reines to Chris Westgate and Nettie, thank you both for doing a grand job for the last 6 years. Whilst packing up we noticed three piles of stuff some person(s) had left? Rosie had asked everyone to take their rubbish home with them as there were no waste bins on site. Whoever left the items i.e. two airbeds, inner tent and rubbish in boxes, two of your fellow members volunteered to take your rubbish home and dispose of it!

Re: Picnic marred by left rubbish
Where were these items dumped? Surely that will give a clue the those responsible. We used to end up taking bags of other peoples rubbish home when we did the Picnic. It's a shame to see nothings changed after all these years.
On a tangent, We took home a broken deck chair and a pair of old steel for capped boots with knackered laces. Not sure whether they were dumped or left by accident. If either of them aren't claimed in the next week or so they'll be binned.

The Copples have made a grovelly apology, having done one tip run already, the pile of rubbish was put aside with the intention of taking with them, but with the rain and the hurried get away it got left behind. They have thanked those who disposed of the rubbish for them.

Re: Picnic marred by left rubbish
I have to say that we have been the last to leave the site for several years (but not this year!) as we had so many cars to move, but never found any rubbish left. This was clearly a 'one off'.
