Sherratt Mini-Scamp? Empty Sherratt Mini-Scamp?

Spotted this Kit Car magazine on Ebay with a picture of a MK2 on the front but the description states 'Sherratt Mini-Scamp'. Anyone any idea where the Sherratt comes from?

It was built / painted by Andy Sherratt......as far as I'm aware that's the only significance.....other than the striking paintwork  Very Happy

Sherratt Mini-Scamp? Empty Sherratt Mini-SCAMP

Post  NG Guy Tue Dec 10, 2013 11:07 am

Hi OSR,

I couldn't get the link to work, however is the Mk 2 in question Red, white and blue, if so I think I might have a copy of this mag somewhere! From memory I think the article was to do with various styles of Scamps and unusual paint jobs (in 1980's).

Regarding the "Sherratt" connection I am pretty sure "Muttley" hit the nail on the head, it was Andy Sherratt that built and painted this striking looking Mk2 Scamp.

PS. How is your Mk2 coming along?

Best regards NG Guy.

Yes it is indeed a very striking Red, White and Blue paint job.

I'd like to come to the Woodman Meet but won't be making any definite commitments until I actually have a Scamp on the road and no point setting a deadline as I'm in the Douglas Adams camp when it comes to that kind of thing*  rofl rofl

Sherratt Mini-Scamp? Empty Rob's copy

Post  Mk3rob Tue Dec 10, 2013 8:16 pm

Just found my copy in my floor based filing system:roll:
Oh the joys of living alone Very Happy

3 page article , one of which is a completion to win a Scamp kit worth £550
2nd prize is £100 discount of a kit
3rd prize is £50 discount.

Judges were Fred Cake (Sec of Scamp Club) and Peter Filby (Mag Ed)

Article, written by someone with the initials of PJF(see above) and says they did 2000 miles on their hols, then ends by saying

"Well, can you imagine how uncomfortable a Scamp would feel as a showpiece at a custom car show"

Any comments from the Wezgit  Question Question
