Scamp wanted
I am looking for a Mk3 Scamp at a sensible price. Ideally with an MOT'd so it can be used and enjoyed whilst being restored.
Any advice on the best model appreciated as this will be my first Scamp.

Re: Scamp wanted
Hi MR
Dont be put off by a Scamp that doesnt have a MoT, mine didnt when i bought it.
Talk to the owner and get a feel for wether he knows what he is talking about ref mini's.
If he bought it as a project a couple of years ago and never did anything with it, then the price should be low and it prob needs lots doing.
I paid more than most club members would for mine, but the bloke had played with mini's etc alll his life and it had been dry stored for 4 years due to his ill health.
I changed the pads and shoes, adjusted the handbrake and it passed the MoT.
Make sure V5 says Scamp in the description or states made from donor parts or you have previous MoT forms as proof that it has been a Scamp for many years, then with a bit of hassle with DVLA you can get the description changed.
Its better to travel a long way for a good one than get a rubbish one on your doorstep.
Look at the one for sale above (Rupert's) your entry as an example, no its not mine and i dont know him .
Best of luck Rob

Re: Scamp wanted
Hello Rob,
Many thanks for the reply and advice it was very helpful, i agree with your point regarding an MOT the only hurdle for me being getting any purchase home to Wiltshire if it does not have one but i am sure this can be overcome.
Ruperts Scamp is for sure the type of thing i have in mind, i will let you know how i get on.
Regards,
Jody.
