Re: Mk3 darn sarf
Not sure I like the radiator at the front but looks fairly tidy otherwise. Unusual to see a mrk 3 on ebay!

Re: Mk3 darn sarf
Hi. I bought the scamp off eBay. Tucked in the garage now, sorting out a few bits. Would be intersted to know how easy this would be to fit out as a part time four seater. Regards John

Re: Mk3 darn sarf
Would be interested to see, it came with a selection of seats, binned / sold some. Still have a pair of bucket seats which I won't use & a rather poor fold down bench.

Re: Mk3 darn sarf
Hi - and welcome to the mad club!
2 of our mk 3s only have two seats, but the third one - (Our daughters to be precise) has a lift up seat that was manufactrued by Andrew Mclean to go in the Scamp. It is basic and small, fitting between the wheel arches and in front of the petrol tank.

Thats them, but posher !
Mine, before mod, had them in the same position.
They are 3/4" box section wood with foam on top covered with mini/metro fabric taken from the orig rear seats.
The base is bolted down and the back is loose. The seats lap belts are bolted onto a hefty frame bolted through the floor.
Too be honest the rear seats on a Mk3 are only good for rugrats with short legs.
you know the ones who kick 7 shades out of the back of the drivers seat

Re: Mk3 darn sarf
Thanks for the reply's & photos. The intention is to take the Scamp to France on hols (towed) & use it to drive to the beach. So we need four seats. Would be interested to know if the fuel tank is Scamp, Mini or what ever was around. Might try to change/relocate it, to lower the seat and move the occupants head away from the rails over. Will try to post a couple of photos to what is there. Regards

Fuel tank
Correct Mk3 fuel tank is of triangular / wedge shaped that follows the shape of the rear panel and sits about 6" below the top of the inside of the wheel arch. The filler neck sticks out rearwards beside the RH lights.
Others have rectangulat tanks from Mini pickups or vans, with a sideways filler neck.
My Mk3 weighed in at 660Kg empty (total canvas sides/doors and roof, as per brochure) on a weigh bridge.
Top front, center roof support removed cause i kept smacking my swede on it

Re: Mk3 darn sarf
Sounds as if mine has the pick up tank. Is the correct tank under or behind the seat. Thought it might weight a bit less. (has no doors or roof etc). Could do with a copy of the brochure if anyone has one. I do have a perfect copy for the mk2.

Re: Mk3 darn sarf
Right at the rear behind the seat, hence lack of leg room.
A copy of the Mk3 brochure can be seen in the main index of the Scamp owners club on the web site

Just had a look, had assumed the 6 wheel was the lwb. Again I assume mine is a swb.

Re: Mk3 darn sarf
Need to sell my Scamp or my boat, no time or space for both.
I assume it is worth around £1000. Please let me know if anybody is interested or may list on eBay. Regards John

Re: Mk3 darn sarf
Pics have appeared, albeit rather unflattering ones that make the starting price of £1000 seem a tad optimistic. Especially when you consider it got no bids at £400 last time.
