The MESS situation
Well, what with work, housework, charity work, DiY, and trying to have some sort of social life in-between I have to say progress with the MESS has been VERY slow, but we're getting there in the end.
I'm pleased to say that James' welder is ready to go back to him, as are Rob's axle stands. Cheers chaps. Hey James, I owe you big time!
Back indoors...
I've only got two more door frames to strip in the bungalow (I've been doing one a night after work)..........then there's the skirting boards, window sills, and kitchen hatch.
Reg has finished with the fireplace, and has just got to rebuild the stove, so that'll be another job done.
Then it's into the back room: woodburner, plastering, skirting boards, artex, coving, etc.
Next on the list is revamping the bedroom, as well as building a fancy detached carport using reclaimed slates, and what not.
Anyone tired? I am
Out on the streets:
It's the Poppy Appeal launch dinner next weekend, so after work I'll be standing in the local supermarkets for a couple of weeks hitching my dress up hoping people give generously.
I'm also persuing my role as a Case Worker with the Legion (working upto 70hrs per week had sort of put a stop to it, but I'm back down to 40 now, so it's all systems go), and with the current state of our country, believe me there are lots of cases, some VERY desperate.
Right! It's time for me to get on with my daily chores, then into the garage so I'll love you & leave you 'til next time.
Elaine.

Re: The MESS situation
Quick update!
The 'slow bits' of the build are all coming along nicely now, and we should be onto the 'normal' bits in a few weeks....... so providing there aren't any major catastrophes it should be on the road well before Stoneleigh.
Thanks again to Reg & James.

Re: The MESS situation
It does appear to be taking shape nicely Elaine.
I can't wait to see the end result and the next part of the 'TRR Developments' story.

I'm loving it! I see TRR family are looking strong for the picnic this year, though we need more competition.

Re: The MESS situation
Still a few hundred to spend on it yet............. Guestimated build cost £5,000-£6,000
I'll add all the receipts up when it's on the road,
Elaine.

Why bother, I never do. I think it would compromise the standard of the project if you took much notice of budgets.

That's why I'm not doing the adding up until it's on the road!
Mmmm, I wonder if there's a trophy for the most money spent?...
Elaine.
Today..........
The ZZR1100 engine in the MESS ran (for a couple of seconds) on carb cleaner.
As of this evening, I'm half way through sorting where the electrics are going to be permanently fixed..................
