The Cotswold Mini Classic Tour
On Sunday the 29 July Mini Fixers are holding the 2nd Cotswold Mini Classic Tour. The first event last year was a great success with far more applicants than we expected for a first time organised event, but there were no Scamps. I'd have thought a run around narrow, sometimes a bit rough, country lanes and fords was right up your street.
The Tour starts at the Fairford Leisure Centre and proceeds around the beautiful Cotswold Hills along country lanes, through fords, past places of interest and gorgeous views. The finish is at The Trout Inn at Lechlade on Thames, where there will be a bar-be-que. Camping is available on the Saturday night at The Trout if you want to make it a weekend away. So many people said 'we've had a great time, are you going to do it again next year' that we decided we must.
This event is a fabulous opportunity to get away and spend some time in the wonderful Cotswold countryside.
This is a 'classic' Mini only event and aims to create that special atmosphere of traditional Mini gatherings.
For more information and application forms (and a list of local B&B's to stay in if you like to be pampered), see www.minifixers.co.uk
Here's hoping to see you,

Re: The Cotswold Mini Classic Tour
Hi Rob,
That sounds like a great event but the date clashes with the first weekend of the SOC annual holiday in Wales which might limit the number of Scampers. Though I'm very tempted to drive down on the Saturday, do the tour on the Sunday and then head up to the campsite in Wales*.

Re: The Cotswold Mini Classic Tour
If anybody has tried to access the Cotswold Tour documents on the Mini Fixers website you may have noticed we've had a few problems, they would open for some people but not for others! It's all been fixed now so if anybody is tempted to join us for the Tour you can get to the application docs.
Would love to see some Scamps this time.
Here's hoping to see you.

Re: The Cotswold Mini Classic Tour
You would be most welcome, and bring the caravan. What is it and how do you get on towing it with a Scamp?
We just bought an Eriba Puck, 1962, weighs 400kg and I'm hoping to be able to bring it along, if we can get a tow car ready!

Re: The Cotswold Mini Classic Tour
The caravan on the back of the silver & black Scamp is a Romini caravan (made by the Romany people on the Isle of Wight),mine is a French Eriba Puck. It's the 3rd type of caravan I have towed with the Scamp and the Puck is certainly the best, you don't know it's on the back(until you get to a hill of coarse!).I towed it to Stourport last year and that's 200 miles from where I live.
