Re: MINI MOKE????????????
Had a look in "Peter Filby's Bible" there's a Mk1 Jimini in there with round headlamps,most probably a Jimini,deffinately not a Moke,the seller's comments "all kit car's have Q plates don't they?"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mini Moke
I owned the first mark 1 Jimini.
Chassis number DC 1
Which I part exchanged with Andrew against a LWB mark 3 Scamp.
And I seem to remember it had square headlights from a Viva......

Re: MINI MOKE????????????
Looks like a mark 1 Jimini to me...............?
I agree, looks like a Jimini to me.......
(Very) Early ones had flat bonnets and round headlamps but this design was changed within 12-18 months of production to the sloping bonnet and Square Headlamps.
The early ones seem to be very "flexible" in their design (and owner modifications). I've seen one with Gull Wing doors al la Scamp !

Look in Filby's bible, the Jimini coppied the Moke with side pods and access plates in the sides, one in the book identical with oblong headlamps.
Another thing,if it's so ancient why has it got square headlamps, they were designed and manufactured in the late 1960's early 1970's by Thorn industries(I think)who,in tern, went bust so they had to make a headlamp unit that fitted bulbs.Loads of manufacturers were using them at the time,Allegro's,Avenger's,Viva's,Victors,Cortina Mk3's.

Re: MINI MOKE????????????
'However, it has had a Jimini conversion on the donor chassis'
So what you mean is it's a Jimini kit car! Still fair play to who ever managed to get it registered as a Moke. He'll be doing well to get any one to bid on it at that price though.

Re: MINI MOKE????????????
A bit more realistic in price now;
Still not sure where he got his valuation from though - "valued at more than £5000.00" I would certainly like to meet the valuer.

Re: MINI MOKE????????????
Who lists the full vehicle id details in public??? Still think he's massively optimistic with the price.

Seems to me that he thought he had bought a proper Moke, the valuation is about right for a non runner.
Then
Someone told him the truth, hence the reduced price

Re: MINI MOKE????????????
Have to agree with you Rob, he thought he'd got a moke...
Mind you, fair play if he's prepared to sell & post to America, Australia & Japan !!!!!!
Think he's def a jimny short of a moke..
