Find a canal boat cover maker, they are normally cheaper than a car place.

Taz's cover was done by canal boat cover makers and cost £400 - so not exactly cheap - but very well made.
Pepe is also still awaiting a roof - but, as this time,I am going to try my hand at making one. Mark tells me it's easy! Yeh right! All the same, it will hopefully cut £2-300 off the price so has to be worth a go.

Re: My Scamp!
Mine was £230 and was done the local Canvas, Rope & Tarpaulin Company using the same material as used on the Lorry Curtains and Tilt covers.
The material is a bit "bondage" shiny black , but the material doesn't rip or hole when off roading.
Expenditure on a hood is likely to be a major part of the cost of a Scamp. It's a good idea to look at a few different variants of hoods, so that you can consider the various options and hopefully ensure that you get exactly what you want/need.
Dave
PS: £230 - The Guy said he would have to charge more if he did another - he didn't realise how much work was involved.

Wow - bargain!
I guess ours was more because of the various zip bits Tony decided had to be in it. - All three windows unzip and roll up. (Well they did until Tony ripped one of the stays off off-roading the very first week we had put the cover on Taz! GRRRRRR! He had been told to take it off but would he listen...? Ok, it was just the clip and it has been replaced now so he is just about forgiven) Actually even this company said that they would charge more for a similar spec to ours for anyone else. (Tony used to work for a boat builders that dealt with them) But they probably say that to everyone.
As Dave has said, I think it is one of the more expensive bits - well all in one go anyway - which is why Pepe is still topless!
