Hi,
I have been reading from your forum for a while, mainly to gain a little more information as I would like to get a Mk3 (I think) after admiring one in my work car park some years back.
I thought I would join in so hello all.

Abso-bloody-lutely. Welcome Adam. I can strongly recommend coming along to the shows and meetings to introduce yourself.
I have been a club member for 20 years on and off and probably only had a Scamp for 5 or 6 years of that. It's more about the Social side than anything.

Re: New member from Kent
I'm not working that weekend so I'm a definately/maybe. I would like to have one by then though.
I would like to get one so I still have something fun to drive whilst I rebuild my Land Rover which hopefully will start this summer.
I will bring that as it is closer to a Scamp that an Astra estate.
Is that a Simca truck Sumb?
Thanks for the warm welcome, you seem to have a very active forum.

Re: New member from Kent
No beer tonight Dave. Just gunwash and paint fumes - my head is spinning. And I have now edited the post to the correct name
Yes, you are quite right Adam, that is a Simca. Otherwise known as a SUMB, used to have one for a bit. Other people will fill you in on that story when we meet you I am sure.

No sh!t, Chaz. I spent last night spraying rust inhibitor into the Mini prior to tonight's episode of Dinatrol cavity wax and i was out there with the fairies (even more than most normal evenings)

Re: New member from Kent
Although it is still in Scotland my friend has just collected my Scamp. The yellow one for sale on here.
Should be flying up in August for a visit and drive it back. (possibly at 40mph as its an 850)
Should be an adventure.

Re: New member from Kent
At one stage of its life my Mk1, with an 850 engine, inherited the head and camshaft from a 997 Cooper and could just about manage 80. OTOH it only did 26 to the gallon....

Re: New member from Kent
Hi all,
Been keeping quiet since I bought my scamp as not to get too excited but am flying up Friday to pick it up.
Driving back Monday/Tuesday. Wish me luck.
Have been aquiring parts quietly though. Mg metro engine and disc brakes.
My friend who is storing it for me has fitted a new clutch master cylinder and complete new cooling system, fixed the fuel gauge and gaffa taped the temp gauge from his spitfire to the dash. (got to post it back when I get home lol).
Are the extended radius arms hard to come by?
