Just a quick one now the 4x4 has gone to pastures new,
Ive got the Mk3 to sort out.

Older photos show my scamp with a delightfull brown hood not a colour im fond of.
So the next question is which is best in terms of quality.
Vinyl or Canvas?

Given the enviroment our scamps live in which do you think please?
I know there are boat chandlers in my area, HGV trailer curtain repairers
(a bit too bdsm shiny for me)
Most Land Rovers have had canvas for years i doubt exmoor trim would entertain a scamp hood.
Any clues folks......?

Well Tony's new hood for Taz is stunning. I had a good look at the picnic and was well impressed. I may be wrong but i seam to remember it being Mohair. Am i right Tony?

Ha ha! - mohair! That would tickle! No good at all!

Anyway - the hood we have now, and the original were both vinyl. We were quite happy with the old one and it had certainly lasted us for a couple of years but it needed new windows in(and that was going to be almost as much as the new cover)- no idea how old it was when we bought the car - but certainly not new. So, for us, vinyl has done well.
Our new hood was made by a local boat-canopy makers. It is just a shame that Tony has broken it - when he was told to remove it before going out to play! Evil or Very Mad Do men ever listen? - Fortunately just the straps to be reattached Mad
