As I'm new to the forum most of you won't know my history with Minis and unfortunately I have yet to get it right! Stumpy (my Mk3 Scamp) is my 11th Mini and once again I've picked up yet another one that needs major TLC! Beast (My clubman GT) has now lost his clutch master cylinder and various electrics in an attempt to get Stumpy working properly and as always I've failed on that front too!!

I picked Stumpy up last Saturday from Shrewsbury and he was in pretty good condition (the steel framework doing what it is supposed to and not rotting!) but the chap I bought him from had got the scamp to go green laning and then just left it sitting (probably due to the tired 998 under the bonnet). The oil was as thin as mik and black as the night but we managed the 182 mile trek back with no incedent (apart from a misunderstanding with the fuel gauge!)

Once back then it all kicked off, first the clutch master cylinder collapsed completely but with a little hard work and a loan from Beast all was good again. Then driving home from work the day after he spluttered and cut out and wouldn't restart. After a visit from the AA he was home (mostly towed) and once again more parts were robbed and all seemed well again. So off I went to our local Mini meet last night and the drive home was done at an excruciating 20 mph with the whole car stinking like day old macdonalds!

So this is where we are now, I'm skivving off work because I can't get there and working on the boys today and hopefully and some point today I will have two A series engines running sweetly otherwise look out for the pair of them on eBay!!!!

Well as usual my pessimism knows no bounds! Stumpy the Scamp is now running much better just the timing to set up and Beast the GT now runs, idles beautifully and has a brand new clutch master cylinder, just an oil change to get any left over water out and all will be good! Happy bunny :-)
