Wanted - bits to make the 'Scampers Rest'

Thats right, Dave & I (along with input from others) had the brain wave of making a focal point for Scamp events, a MK2 Scamp that forms a Bar and a BBQ. I'd trailer it to events and scampers could use it during the weekend.

The roof will lift up so we could use it as a place to serve drinks from/Scamp info desk at shows/seats inside for weary Sampers.
There will be a drop down bar on the outside and stools around the edge.
No engine, instead there will be a BBQ under the bonnet so we can serve up grub to Scampers.

The wanted list!

• Free MK2 chassis (preferably rolling, if not we'd also need bit to make it a rolling chassis). It can be completely rotten and no log book is needed.
  
• bits for the BBQ (stainless sheet/grills etc).
  
• plywood for paneling and bars.
  
• Pint puller things? to make it look like an authentic British pub!
  
• 8 to 10 stools.
  
• cream, white and black paint. Oh, and varnish.
  
• Horse brasses.
  
• a pub sign (a minature one)
  
• a wood burning stove (can be fake)
  
• a 12v fridge
  
• a thatched roof!
  

and a couple of weekends volunteering to get it built!

The thatched roof could be a bit dodgy with a BBQ underneath... anyway it's been done before.

Don't forget the dartboard - as wheel trims, perhaps?

I have loads of bits of front suspension/driveshaft,hubs left over which you are welcome to. If i havent sorted my scamp by now then bug....... it.

I will make an inventory and let you know, then it will have to be another trip to the pub to discuss it

What do you want after a skinfull down the pub? -------------------- a kebab of course!

The Scampers Rest would not be complete without one of these I saw on ebay.





Or at least one of these for the barbeque --------- made in Newark they know their kebabs.

I am hoping to get my Mk2 Scamp "barbecue trailer" sorted out by IMM. It was going to be done for Newquay, but we didn't get there this year- we had a baby instead! The trailer was on ebay a few months ago, and was the 6-wheel conversion for a 4-wheeled Mk2 that used to be available, but apparently did nothing for the handling, hence its removal and conversion to a trailer.

I'll post some pics when it gets a bit closer. My Mk1 towing car isn't even MoTed yet- must remedy that!

Actually (Got to put my oar in) they really were sober! It was mid afternoon and Tony and I had just got back from browsing the trade stands when James asked if he could jump into the back of Daisy to try her out for height!
We all stood around - and, in the way only the Scamp club can - discussed the Scampers rest that he and Dave had been discussing while sitting in the sun. - Perhaps it was sunstroke
Whatever it was, we all joined in and put in our twopenneth.

Sounds like it's a job for the Copple family,the brilliant creations John used to produce at Newark.

Anyway, I still need a donor chassis, Any volunteers?

I thought Mr Bridger had 2 halves of a Mk2?
I will ask my local if there have any pub type of material.

Sorry, but the mark 2 was cut in half to make a "Scamper Camper".
