V5C
Hi Neil
I'll answer your e-mail on here so that all can see and hopefully help.
The main question is what is the Reg No of the Scamp?
If we have this, hopefully our archivist can find some details.
If it is a known Scamp for many years, then sometimes it is possible to apply for a V5C with it correctly described.
Has he any other doc's for it.
When was it last MoT'd.
What do you mean by an incomplete Log Book.
Regards
Rob

Re: Mk2 Project
hi rob,
he had the buyers half of the log book not the full item....and its still regd as a mini nothing more, aas far as i could assertain -the original builder never finished the build i don't think ,and the present guy realised he's never going to get it done due to health issues(and wife grief) so is passing it on as he bought it still in bits
i had doubts if it could be regd in its current state ,hence the posting here , incase i was mistaken

Re: Mk2 Project
Then the chances of getting the car registered for road use are, I'm sorry to say, nil.
When the Scamp was introduced in 1969, such cars would take their registration - and age as far as Construction & Use regs were concerned - from the donor vehicle. If there was no single donor then a new registration would be assigned. This changed in 1983, when kit cars were assigned a new number with prefix letter Q. In every case the V5 included, somewhere, a comment such as "rebuilt from parts, not all new".
In 1998 the system changed again. All kit cars became subject to Single Vehicle Approval, now Individual Vehicle Approval, a demanding set of rules with which the Scamp has no hope of complying, mainly due the proliferation of corners and hard edges internal and external. They are the reason the Scamp went out of production.
There are only two uses now for this kit: complete the build but for off-road use only, or use the parts to restore an existing Scamp that has seen better days.
