can anybody tell me if i can get away with fitting an oil cooler on the underside of the slap panel (box section) of a mk2 so the oil pipes go in the bottom of the cooler & not in the top like you normally see. the reason i ask is the the front panel is filled in on the bottom & there are slats on the top so would make an ideal place.

I have my oil cooler at the top of the grill mounted off the top cross piece, but I still have the pipes going in at the top. Once I'm back home I could post some pictures if that helps.

Going to be quite hard to bleed it if the pipes are at the bottom and it'd be impossible to pre-fill it before connecting it to the rest of the system. Could you make some extension brackets to allow it to be mounted with connections on the top?

Iknow its not as high as you are proposing but this is where mine was fitted...it is a 13 row mocal cooler with uprated pipework (the standard stuff that came was like garden hose). to 3000 psi rated hydraulic hoses.

I welded a couple of plates to the oil fittings and then bolted these to another couple of plates welded to my Scamp.
