Rally Car Rides - Gamecock Army Barracks, Nuneaton - 5th July

We're doing our annual rally rides event as part of the Army Open Day at Gamecock Barracks (formerly Bramcote Barracks) near Nuneaton on the 5th July.

The open day is a great day with the added feature of a dozen or so nutters in rally cars (including me) giving rides in aid of the Major of Nuneaton's appeal and the Commander of gamecock Barrack's charity fund.

Please feel free to come along and say hi. The brave ones amongst you can also have a ride in one of the rally cars (even the Sunbeam) for a small donation to the charity pot.



When you get there just come to the fence (yes they fence us in for our own safety) and give one of us a shout so we can get you tagged as a guest and gain access.

Thanks for the loan of the sun cream, Elaine but I think it was a bit late by then....I'm somewhat pink and getting brighter by the minute! I'll sort out some pics later on.

I can't remember if I mentioned it already but our Rally Rides raised £1560 on Sunday. Apparently Baz (in the blue MK2 Escort) & myself were the most popular and a dead heat in the requests from the punters.

It must be the lairy RWD stylee!!!

Is it by invitation that you take part as my brother has a tarmac prepared TR8 that I'm sure he would be willing to offer next year as long as the car is in one piece !!

Cool! More than my Sunbeam and worse handling? that sounds like my perfect stage car!!!!!!

It is via invitation by Richard Eggar Insurance (through Loughborough Car Club) more as a way of ensuring the drivers (and cars) are suitable for the event from a risk point of view. Sadly all you need is one idiot and that would be the end of the event and posibly any future events at Bramcote.

It's worth your brother getting in touch with Richard about coming along next year, I'm sure it would also help if he insures his car with them.

Will mention it to my brother and see what he says.
