This what I drive here in Dubai, a rented Nissan TIIDA - it costs me nowt to run apart from paying a little man 15 AED (less than 3 quid) to wash it once a week when I go shopping in the mall.
I was going to get one of these
or one of these
But with the current downturn here in construction projects I have kept my Dirham in my pocket and its now to hot (life threatening) to venture into the desert for a bit of offoading so no new toy for me at the moment

Re: The new toy!
Well no HGF yet!
Wasn't sure about the handling at first as it gave the impression it didn't want to go quickly (very nervous steering and pronounced bump steer for starters) in my experience those are usually signs that those attributes wil only be exagerated the faster you go!
Oddly though it has a Mr Hyde side. if you go all Tony Pond on it the handling suddenly comes good and the nervousness disapears as you load up the suspension. I gave it the berries on the way into work this morning and it can do the Sports car thing quite well. I'm also impressed at how well it can maintain cross country pace without pushing 100%.

That was very well put James - if either captain slow or the Hamster on Top Gear retires I think you'd do very well - not quite a Clarkson or the Stig but you convinced me (but I wouldn't buy one all the same)
