THE SCAMPERS MAG
Hello, fellow Scampers.
Has anyone had the Scamp mag yet?
I think this forum is killing the mag as Steve has a job to get people to write in, has anyone wrote in beside me?

It's always been difficult to get people to write articles for the mag. If Steve is short on stuff to put in, he can always nick stuff off here, no he shouldn't have to but if it fills a space.........
Out of the 66 members of this forum I can only count about 17 SOC members, so I hardly think these 17 members can be held to account for the death of the mag, there are plenty more members not on this forum not contributing to the mag.

The club magazine editor (whoever has done it) has always struggled for content and thats long before the net was invented.
I've sent steve a few bits and bobs but maybe Steve or Martin should send out a blanket e-mail to the club members as a little prompt for madazine articles?

I sent my President's Bits to Mr. Bridger on the 2nd February

Re: THE SCAMPERS MAG
Is it the end of our magazine ? it would appear that our editor does not have enough to fill the pages - has he sent out a round robin email to all requesting stuff? I keep asking people to send stuff in but to no avail, Rick's reference to the forum killing the mag? and Reg's suggestion of putting the forum stuff in the magazine? it reminds me of the old Buggles song - video killed the radio star! is there no one out there that cares wether there is a magazine or not?
It won't be long before your club will be without a President a Secretary and possibly no magazine?
Don't say I didn't warn you

I must admit, the club is heading towards rudderless ship syndrome.

Re: THE SCAMPERS MAG
....I hope not.Is it the end of our magazine ?
....Probably only topics that may need a wider club audience.Reg's suggestion of putting the forum stuff in the magazine?
....Trevor Horne (Half of the Buggles) went on to have a very succesfull (still) career as a Record Producer - There's some irony in that.it reminds
me of the old Buggles song - video killed the radio star!
.... I like to receive the mag.......I'm sure others do.is there no one out there that cares wether there is a magazine or not?
.....I thought that it was at Newark that you stand down.....Do we not have any takers at this time ?It won't be long before your club will be without a President a Secretary and possibly no magazine?
Maybe the subject of a Separate Post or even a Magazine Article
......Hmmm, Gosh Chris ! thats not like you ........... I'm sure things will sort themselves out.......Hey its been a sunny day here, I've done more work on the Scamp.....so I'm an optomist today !I must admit, the club is heading towards rudderless ship syndrome.

Re: THE SCAMPERS MAG
Lets hope things do sort themselves out or we will be doomed..Having a Scamp with nothing to do with it........
I think there could be a few more members, that should put on a event as there are loads of you that enjoy scamping. If its showing your clean Scamp at a show, or greenlaning/off-roading some old snotter of a scamp. We are all scampers.
I think we should bring back the French camping holiday, as there is loads of newish members that havent done that, plus there are some of us oldies that would like to go again, I know we all got a bit bored with it going there 5 or so years(no offence Chris). But its time we went back, isnt it?

Re: THE SCAMPERS MAG
Not sure what domed means - I think Rick means we are all doomed Mr Manwearing?
We need more than hope Dave - you will be receiving an empty brown envelope in the post!
I am not standing down I am sitting down!
The "rudderless ship" is being guided by the most up to date technology available - fly by wire from 3500 miles away via the internet - if there is someone more local and wants to go back to pulleys and wires - please step forward.
My other half your secretary sent out a round robin email to all paid up members back in January asking for stuff for the magazine - some members have sent articles in what about the rest ? Its your club your magazine.
Perhaps the current editor would like a break? Is there anyone out there that wants to use their desktop publishing skills?

Re: THE SCAMPERS MAG
Like Martin said, we need more than hope to keep this club going. Is there going to be a new President for the club?...I hope so, any offers? who wants to put their head on the block?..Lets see what happens at Newark?..

Re: THE SCAMPERS MAG
Yes, there is lots of hope out there, afterall the Picnic was the best I have seen in years. And as for using every type of technology at our fingertips, next thing you know we will be putting "ecu's" on a Scamp.................,sorry Reg and James you've already been there! And I think that Mr Bridger's edititions of the mag, however infrequent, have been the best quality in years, moving into the 21st century in colour!!! (remember the magazines in Stevie Taylor's days? Good president he may have been, his publishing skills were rubbish!)
